I also embrace it. I have a Masters degree and work in a hi-tech startup (cubicle hell). I'm fairly liberal (not to say I'm a staunch democrat - I'm fiscally conservative and support 2A but I'm socially and environmentally pretty progressive and wear Birkenstocks to work ). So I love the reaction I get from coworkers, friends, and aquaintances when they find out I compete in shooting matches and own 6 rifles and 2 handguns. I like to think I'm an evangelist for "gun nuts" as I'm breaking the mold of the stereotypical tin foil hat conspiracy theorist "gun nut".

So in the end I like the label as it makes people feel really stupid for applying such a demeaning label with such a broad stroke. I like to think it makes people think - we need more of that in this country.

I'm hoping to get some good pictures of me during competition as I'd like to hang some pics in my cube. If nothing else maybe some people will think twice about bothering me

I used to get bent when none gun buddys called me it until I realized (once again in my life) I dont particulary care what tooooo many people think of me; the only ones I "gotta look good for" Are my wife, my boss and my God........ So when they call me it now I say "Dam straight!" and ask 'em if they wanna go shoot so they can be one too...it just aint right for people to be Envious

If the word is so mindblowing and earth-shattering why don't you put it on the word filter so I can remember to censor myself for the good of... whatever it is you are trying to do?
