The brand Henry rifle has no relation to the

original Henry rifle of 1858. Not in the lineage, or the mechanism. The original Henry turned was renamed Winchester who was the factory superintendant. After his death, his widow moved to San Jose and had a big house built, .....and built.......and built at the request of her seer. Now open as the Winchester Mystery House.

I finally checked that place out a month ago. What I didn't expect? A really, really nice gun collection on display.

I thought the Henry rifles were made in New York?

With all due respect, sir.

The Henry Repeating Company makes good rifles (for I had a 22LR Golden Boy once and I enjoyed it immensely), but it (or any of HRC's product) is not an 1860-Henry reproduction, not even close. An 1860-Henry has a one piece barrel/tube Mag. iron w/ exposed loading slot, toggle-link mechanism, and no forearm. Uberti makes the closest its modern-incarnation.

Never said it wasn't. The HRC

rifle is a new and modern design that cannot be mistaken for an old Henry or Winchester. Since the OP had expressed an interest in replicas, I wanted to make sure he understood the difference. BTW the new Henry has made a gained some acceptance in cowboy shooting circles although there is some confusions over what class it belongs in.
