    Wedding present

My 'bonus son' ,a US Marine, has made a fatal mistake and asked some poor innocent girl to marry his sorry azz. Is a Mossie 500 Persuader a fitting gift for the bride ,and how can I give it to her legally ? {without a pile of pre-wedding paperwork crap} I mean,"Welcome to the family....here is a 12 ga." I am hoping she will carry it down the aisle.
    Thanks in advance .

You're kidding right? For the shotgun as a present I guess thats ok. little weird ( unless she is into guns) but to have her walking down the isle with a shotgun?
I doubt she will do it. you can buy the gun and simply give it to her. unless you call it in stolen there is no way she can get in trouble for a unregistered shotgun.

Since the firearm in question is a long arm it makes things a lot easier. Long gun transfers between parent to child and grandparent to grandchild are 'paperless', meaning no FFL is required.

*Note the PC only mentions 'parent to child'. This may or may not include 'step-parents'

CA also exempts husband to wife transfers from using a dealer. (Also no paperwork required if it is not a handgun)

So, you could give your son the weapon, and he in turn can hand it over to his wife and no paperwork is required.

However in theory they would actually need to be married for them to fall under the paperless spousal exemption.

This is really not something you need to worry about. There are several logicals paths in which a long arm you bought could end up in your future daughter-in-law's possession without the use of an FFL.

Just make sure you wrap it nicely with a bow on top.

At least step up to an 870. If you like her make it a Benelli.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

                          I love my 500A

it is a total pile of crap, looser than the only girl on a 10 day fishing trip, my romey G has better workmanship, but it never fails even when parts fall off of it
