SHTF Strategy Question

Assuming that you can't leave town if the SHTF and you have to hole up in your house, what is your strategy to defend your house, family, and friends against bands of armed bad guys? Would you fight it out from your house, or would you try to find some strategic place near your house to defend it? I'm thinking that the latter would be better because it would give you more options in terms of movement and strategy, etc....

Both. The problem with most of our houses is that they are made of wood. Not much ballistic protection and a couple of molotov cocktails from the zombies could burn you out in a hurry.

Zombies? What is a Zombie exactly? Assuming Zombie is hostile, pretty sure he/she doesnt care about any laws, so he will probably have a full auto .50 BMG. Then what do you do?

its good to make a plan but most often you are out of your element when it does hit...the fan.

Learning to be resilient or spontaneous is more important than a better plan.

Interesting question. If case of a SHTF situation, I would probably head over to my mom's house for a couple of reasons (she lives in the same city, so I don't consider it bugging out). The first is that my grandmother is bedridden, so she would have to stay, and someone has to stay with her. Second and more importantly, my mom and three of her sisters live within a quarter mile of each other. Two of them even share a fence. If things got really bad, I'd want someone to have my back, and I can't think of a better situation than to be around family.
