Here is another quote of mine. From a post I made earlier in this thread.

"You have no data to support that it's difficult nor any data to say that it is not difficult."

There is no data what so ever to support any point of view in any direction. (Again I have to repeat myself)

Since there is not any data, the only logical solution would be (if you want a CCW) would be to apply. Listening to rumors to how difficult and painstaking it is, is completely useless. If you want it a CCW, you go get it.

You have taken a very personal and emotional position to this discussion. My goal was never to "prove" any one wrong. My goal was to simply state that since there is no data to support any position, why listen to such rumors? Is that clear enough?

btw have you heard of Sykes v McGinnis?

Do you know why good people like pullnshoot25 are open carrying in San Diego county? Because they are too lazy to apply for a CCW?

If your agenda is too prove me wrong I think you have the wrong goal.

Based on his posts, his own opencarry website and the pms I have sent him, I would suggest that PullnShoot open carrys because he wants to exercise a constitutional right. I may be wrong?

interesting you ignored the ongoing Sykes case, when is representiative of the difficulty of obtaining a CCW permit. If it was as you said, "if you want it, go get it", why would Ms Sykes need to resort to legal action? Did you bothre reading about it at all?

As for pullnshoot, a big part of the education campaign he and others have embarked on is to make people(like you) to be aware that the may-issue CCW is difficult, unfair and discriminatory against average citizens.

I will repeat it another time:

if you think it's just a matter of "go get it", why don't you go ahead and apply and show us to be utterly wrong?

Until then you are just slinging mud on people who know about the CCW situation in San Diego county a lot more than you do.

OK I am a part of the group that Pullnshoot is a part of. Here is the thing I called the sheriffs department in November when I was attacked at my school. Told them my reason got told point blank don't bother filing you will lose. So right now my best option while sucky is UOC.

that is consistent with what I have been told by San Diego county residents who tried to apply for a CCW.

I think I am done with this discussion. Instead of an intelligent exchange of ideas, you have made into a "your wrong and I'm right" argument. Showing me one article about how difficult obtaining a CCW is, hardly fulfills the title of hard data.

You can go on believing whatever you want to believe, and you can go on telling people to not try and obtain a CCW, for whatever reason. I choose not to take that position.

compare to your zero experience in the CCW process in CA/San Diego, I think I can say for once I am not wrong. Anyone who spends significant time in SD or Calguns will know the issue with the previous and the current sheriff, so would someone who tried to apply. Since you never tried, whereas I have first hand account from people who did, you are just trolling for attention.

You can go on believing whatever you want to believe, and you can go on telling people to not try and obtain a CCW, for whatever reason. I choose not to take that position.
Did I ever say don't try?

I asked you this already, so I will ask you again, do you know the implication of having a CCW application denied?

Again, I not only didn't discourage anyone, I encouraged you to try and apply. Let us know how this "go and get it" system that you described works out for you.

You are essentially accusing people like KylaGWolf and my friends to be spreading false rumors when they say they tried and cannot get a permit and that the process is impossible. Please keep that in mind.

Like Greg-Dawg said, apply and see what happens.

You can listen to these people on here who constantly tell you that you need political ties and +50K in your checking account. Or you can just apply and take legal action if you are denied for no good constitutional reason.

It seems like everyone who is trying to discourage you from applying for a CCW has no idea what they are talking about, just my opinion.
To get the data. one must PRAR it. I PRAR stuff all the time. As a contrast to your first statement, have you ever seen data that says that CCW permit applications are NOT denied more in SD?

I personally know several CCW permit holders (and I have met several more whle OCing) and I can tell you, the process is not a cakewalk. Those that got them a while ago just renew them quietly. Those that have gotten them recently are required to present business records, tax forms, income statements, bank statements, etc. They also take 100% of the application fees upfront instead of the legally authorized 20%. There is a lawsuit in the works for that as we speak.

Why haven't I applied? I am a college student and I am not throwing my money into a socialist black hole to experiment. I would rather jump off a cliff than give those clowns my money for nothing. Until Sykes is resolved, I am not even going to bother.

I have meet several people in san diego with ccws as well, if that matters.

I do have a question though. Would an armed security guard have a good cause? My employer said that he would "sponsor" me, but i don't think he really knows like most of you here do. Any clarification would be nice.

thanks to all that reply in advance
