    Midway USA shipping- WTF?

Ok, coming hot on the heels of that other Midway USA thread, I've got to ask any other Midway customers if you've heard this one.

Last week I ordered a reloading press and some recoil springs from Midway, and asked that the package require a signature. In the past I've had stuff left on my doorstep and I really didn't want a box of reloading equipment sitting out there all by it's lonesome all day. I figure hey, even if I'm not there (which I won't be since I'm at work all day) I can call and have the package held at the depot for pick up that night. (I usually do this) Simple enough, right?

So I get the notice from UPS, I call the 800 number to arrange pick up. This has NEVER EVER been an issue before. UPS informs me Midway has indicated the package has to be delivered to my residence, period. No pick up at the depot, no changing delivery address, nothing. No exceptions. WTF?

So I call Midway to inquire about this, and the woman I spoke to on the phone informs me that due to Midway's contract with UPS and changes to federal law packages can no longer be be picked up at the depot, or have their delivery addresses changed. Federal law, really Midway? There's a calgunner in the other thread who had a box of ammo LEFT on his porch, and I can't go pick up my own package, in person, with ID? Maybe if I showed up with a birth cert and provided a retinal scan.

I think someone at Midway screwed up and placed some ridiculous restrictions on the delivery, but all I got was "federal regulations, sorry". Way to cover your ***, Midway.

Of course the last package from Midway, several months ago was picked up at the depot, but that's irrelevant right? Any way, I get to take tomorrow off and wait for the damn thing so I can actually receive the package. Thanks a bunch Midway. Sorry for ranting, but after reading that other thread, now this, Midway may have just lost another customer.

Yeah, no kidding, I could see maybe if it's hazmat stuff, or maybe even loaded ammo, but a press and some springs? New federal laws? I'm mostly Po'd since I need to take a day off to stay home and wait for the stuff.

LOL, I can see why you are frustrated. Sounds like Midway has a few zombies running around making decisions over there.

That's really odd...I just picked up my Midway package from the local hub an hour or so ago.

I've made multiple calls to UPS (you know, in case I'm getting bad info from someone) and the story's all the same. Aargh.

its not a federal law it is a credit card agreement they signed

many people confuse policy with laws

its annoying when the little people dont communicate the truth they try to appease with lies

I just realized what's been going on with MidwayUSA.

Midway USA had to hire a bunch of new customer service reps to keep up with the Obama-generated demand in all things firearms and ammo. Midway USA is smack-dab in the middle of Missouri, which as some of you may not know, is full of rednecks (I know because I came from that area and deep down inside, I am one of them <grin>).

While they may know everything you'd ever need to know about hunting with the 30-06 and 35 Whelen, they don't know jack about National and State Gun Laws. What MidwayUSA customers are experiencing is customer service "training".

It just makes so much sense!

thats still not an excuse. they need to train their people correctly or they will continue to lose customers.

I really hope this is the only reason. I'd hate to think they have some sort of new policy that makes getting firearms related stuff a pain in the butt. California is just that tough already, I don't need one more hurdle.

I think it maybe due to your hub or area. But I do feel your pain.

They can leave a box marked for signed delivery filled with $2700 worth of uppers on you porch at 1 pm but sweat you for a small box of ammo worth $45 marked for depot pickup. I don't get it either?

I don't believe it is a Midway deal.
