Ok, coming hot on the heels of that other Midway USA thread, I've got to ask any other Midway customers if you've heard this one.
Last week I ordered a reloading press and some recoil springs from Midway, and asked that the package require a signature. In the past I've had stuff left on my doorstep and I really didn't want a box of reloading equipment sitting out there all by it's lonesome all day. I figure hey, even if I'm not there (which I won't be since I'm at work all day) I can call and have the package held at the depot for pick up that night. (I usually do this) Simple enough, right?
So I get the notice from UPS, I call the 800 number to arrange pick up. This has NEVER EVER been an issue before. UPS informs me Midway has indicated the package has to be delivered to my residence, period. No pick up at the depot, no changing delivery address, nothing. No exceptions. WTF?
So I call Midway to inquire about this, and the woman I spoke to on the phone informs me that due to Midway's contract with UPS and changes to federal law
packages can no longer be be picked up at the depot, or have their delivery addresses changed. Federal law, really Midway? There's a calgunner in the other thread who had a box of ammo LEFT on his porch, and I can't go pick up my own package, in person, with ID? Maybe if I showed up with a birth cert and provided a retinal scan.
I think someone at Midway screwed up and placed some ridiculous restrictions on the delivery, but all I got was "federal regulations, sorry". Way to cover your ***, Midway.
Of course the last package from Midway, several months ago was picked up at the depot, but that's irrelevant right? Any way, I get to take tomorrow off and wait for the damn thing so I can actually receive the package. Thanks a bunch Midway. Sorry for ranting, but after reading that other thread, now this, Midway may have just lost another customer.
