If you want a tac vest, get something modular (molle). I'd recommend just getting a plate carrier actually getting something that doesn't just hold mags. Get some lvl2 or 3 inserts. The nice thing about molle is you can adjust the pouches and get what you want instead of what is already attached.

I prefer a vest that is more modular so you can move the pouches and stuff around to suit your personal tastes and equipment. Never cared for the crossdraw holster thing either. If you gotta go prone or crawling around on your belly I'd rather not be dragging my pistol thru the dirt. The crossdraw might be nice if your driving alot or something like that. Otherwise.....I'd look for just a plain MOLLE vest and get the pouches you need and arrange them to your own taste.
