Great article. I just sent her an email requesting she look at AB962 and SB585 with hopes that the more people that know about this the better, and that her peers might listen to her about these issues far more than they'd listen to an "old" guy like me....Maybe we can get a few more converts!

Pretty good article actually - couple terms I would have rather not seen used, such as "sniper rifle" and "assault weapon" - but in actuality their use in this article may take away from some of the bad conotations the words invoke due to the young lady shooting them.

      Good job.

Agreed about the words, but also the context. The more people see that "normal" people have them, the less they'll think only bad guys do bad things with them and should be banned.

I thought it was a fairly good article. I laughed a little at the reference to "Weapons of Death" comment.

Yes, had I known that she was going to write an article about her experience, I would have spent more time educating her on correct terms, firearm types, etc. I think her terminology is typical of someone that has only been exposed to firearms via the press and action movies. Regardless, I think she did well. I especially liked her acknowledgment of the sacrifices those in the military make daily to insure her freedom.

If she wants to get a firearm of her own, send her down here to us at Ade's in Orange, I'd be happy to take care of her.

Mike great job in getting her out there. So do you think she will come out there again. I would suggest to her though to not wear tank tops out there since I can say for a fact hot brass down the shirt hurts like hell. I have the burn marks from this weekend to prove it. The one that hurt the worst though was the one that caught me where the arm meets the body. Nice little burn there since the cartridge hit me sideways.

I looked at the slide show and laughed out loud when I saw the big smile on her face.

I just got an email from her thanking us for her experience. She said that she wants to join us again next month and I encouraged her to bring her friends. I also sent her the link to this discussion.

Even if she doesn't end up going to the range again, she'll understand better why "average Americans" would want to own "killing machines made only for war". Good, well written, balanced article!

We should do some kind of official meetup.
