I did a PPT at Pasadena turners and it was a great experience. Nice people. Did take a little too long, but every PPT I've done anywhere takes a little too long.

It's Turner's way of saying they don't want to do PPT's.

They're obligated by law to perform them, but there's nothing in the law the requires them to make the process easy, or to be efficent in doing them.

We've got no Turners here in the S.F. Bay Area, but if I was treated like that by a dealer they wouldn't have my business.
The way some gunshop clerks spout off, you'd think that they invented gunpowder and the repeating rifle, and sat on the Supreme Court as well.

It has been a while since I've done a PPT at Turners, but I remember in previous threads people thought I was kidding for taking 1.5 hrs at the Signal Hill Turners.

I see some have shared similiar experiences. At least back then Turners had inventory I could browse through...

Seems really dumb and short sighted of them to have that policy. Don't they know they are alienating a customer that is guaranteed to be interested in the goods that they sell?

If I were a gun dealer, I wouldn't want to spend my day doing PPT's either. People just don't understand that it costs a lot of money to keep a brick and mortar store. They can't support that with PPT's. Although pricing your guns high doesn't do it either, although there are plenty of people in the world who don't do any research before buying.

4:02pm - I hand GunRunners my ID and the buyer pays me for the lower. GunRunners asks me for my phone number and state of birth.
4:07pm - The lady at GunRunner's tells me, I'm done and I can go now.
                  (GunRunners is awesome!)

4:30pm - I arrive at Turners in Pasadena to transfer an SKS. The store is kinda messy - tags on the ground and the handgun cases look chaotic and a little bare. I want to transfer my rifle, but I have to wait for the buyer...
4:53pm - Buyer arrives. Turners employees are busy transferring some rifles/handguns to buyers. Employee says, we close at 6pm, there might not be enough time to transfer the SKS because PPT's take 1 full HOUR. Wait here...
5:23pm - Turner Employee gets to us, yeah guys there isn't enough time to transfer the SKS. Come back tomorrow, but know that it's going to take 1 full hour to PPT the rifle.
                  (You guys suck!)

Why on earth does it take Turners in Pasadena 1 full hour to perform a PPT? I've done a PPT at this Turners a year ago, I remember it did take a long time, almost an hour. Is this the case at every Turners?

I'm voting with my wallet and never returning to them. They had a Benelli SuperNova I wanted to buy, time to look elsewhere.

Does anybody know any FFL's open on Sunday that's a reasonable driving distance for two parties in Arcadia and Simi Valley?
                  Saturday @ Turner's Corona

9:50 - I arrive. Turner's still closed. Called buyer. Buyer says he's on his way too.
9:55 - Buyer arrives and checks gun. Everything's OK. About 5 customers are by the door waiting.
10:00 - Door opens. Everybody goes in. We check in the firearm and greeted with a smile. One employee even said "PPT?" with a friendly nod.
10:05 - We stood infront of the gun counter waiting for service. All employees are assisting the initial rush of customers. Didn't wait long.
10:30 - I was out of there all done with PPT and that's after returning some flip-up scope covers too

I made sure I took the name of the Corona Turner's employee. SCOTT, you did a great job. So far, the San Marcos & Corona branches are A+ on my book. Kudos!

I spent about $4k at Turner's a couple years ago. Then I had bad experiences with some PPTs and their customer service, and they charge ridiculous fees for FFL transfers, so I have not spent a dime there since. (They lost a lot of business for their lousy customer service.)

Customer service levels seem to vary depending on which Turners you visit. The Pasadena one has a particularly bad rep when it comes to transfers. The one at Chino Hills seem to be ok. I live near that one and have done a few transactions there and have never been given a hard time.

I recently called turners to ask for information on a PPT transfer on a rifle and the San Diego store mentioned they would refuse to do the transfer if it's an item they carry in store, but when I called a Turners further north in the Riverside/LA area, they were totally fine with it. Just my little wtf moment w/ Turners...inconsistency...

legally we cant refuse to do ppt's...we used to not do ffl transfers on items we carry(we dont do them at all anymore)... they probably thought you meant ffl not ppt...
