C&R apps not shipped??

i ordered a couple C&R applications from the fflc. i just got all the other stuff i ordered from them but they didnt ship the C&R apps. i was getting one for my brother in law because i am going to give him one of my firearms and want to do it through a C&R and the other app was for my wife so she can buy too.

any idea why my apps didnt ship?

BATFE has been lagging on sending out C&R FFL applications for a long time now. Some people have waited 3 months just to get the application. You might have noticed some of the posts over on the C&R forum where Calgunners are giving away extra applications to people who are still waiting, and then those people doing the same thing when their applications show up a couple of months later.

As to your brother in law, depending on where he lives and/or if he ever comes to California to visit, he might not need a C&R FFL himself if you just want to give him a C&R rifle or shotgun that is over 50 years old.

Can't you just download the pdfs? I seem to remember doing that when I got my C&R FFL a while back.

i was under the impression that the ATF was not taking downloaded versions.

It took 6-8 weeks for mine to arrive; got them about 3 weeks ago.

You used to be able to download the PDF's off of BATF's web site. But they ended that a few years ago.

nope. ATF does not offer a PDF version.

Correct. A CG'er made a PDF version and ATF accepted it for a couple weeks and then stoped accepting them. The app must be submitted on the official green form.

wonder if you could trick them by printing it on heavy green sheet? im not going to press my luck though.

They are not. Mine got rejected and they didnt send the correct app with the rejection. Good thing I had already ordered the apps and they got to me around the same time as the rejection for not using the proper forms

I called for an application in early August and received it within 10 days.

Did you call the FFLC back east or did you call your local BATFE office? I know some people have been having better luck calling their local office.

I called the FFLC back east.

I also need to correct my earlier claim of 10 days. I dug out the envelope the apps came in, and from the packing slip and the stamp date, it looks like it took 19 days from when I called to receive the apps.
