    The Blair-Holt proposed legislation??

Anyone else get this email? It was forwarded to me by an anti-gunfriend of mine. Maybe FUD, maybe not. did a quick search here but you know how the search button seems to work about 50% of the time on a good day, well it came back with no results this time for me. I search several pages manually but saw nothig that seem to be on the subject in the "2nd Amendment" section or in "current cases" sub-folder. Thought I would post it to see if others know aynything about it or bring awareness to the email floating around out there. Thanks in advance

The email as it came to me:

The Blair-Holt proposed legislation: Senate Bill SB-2099(and companion HR 45) will require us to put on our 2009 1040 federal tax form all guns that you have or own. It may also require fingerprints and a tax of $50 per gun.

In November, our lying president promised he was not going after our Second Amendment rights. This bill was introduced on Feb. 24. This bill will become public knowledge 30 days after it is voted into law. This is an amendment to the Internal Revenue Act of 1986. This means that the Finance Committee can pass this without the Senate voting on it at all.

The full text of the proposed amendment is on the U.S. Senate homepage, http://www.senate.gov/ You can find the bill by doing a search by the bill number, SB-2099.You know who to call; I strongly suggest you do. Please send a copy of this e-mail to every gun owner you know.

http://www.opencongress.org/bill/111-h45/text Congress is now starting on the firearms confiscation bill. If it passes, gun owners will become criminals if you don't fully comply. It has started.

Very Important for you to be aware of this & a new bill HR 45 introduced into the House. This is the Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sale Act of 2009.Even gun shop owners didn't know about this because the government is trying to fly it under the radar.

To find out about this - go to any government website and type in HR 45 or Google HR 45 Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sales Act of 2009. You will get all the information.Basically this would make it illegal to own a firearm - any rifle with a clip or ANY pistol unless:
    It is registered
    You are fingerprinted
You supply a current Driver's License
You supply your Social Security #
You will submit to a physical & mental evaluation at any time of their choosing
Each update change or ownership through private or public sale must be
    reported and costs $25
Failure to do so you automatically lose the right to own a firearm and are subject up to a year in jail.
There is a child provision clause on page 16 section 305 stating a child-access provision.
Gun must be locked and inaccessible to any child under=2 018.
They would have the right to come and inspect that you are storing your gun safely away from accessibility to children and fine is punishable for up to 5 yrs. in prison.

If you think this is a joke - go to the website and take your pick of many options to read. It is lengthy. But, more and more people are becoming aware of this. Pass the word along. Any gun owners or hunters in your family pass this along.

This is just a "termite" approach to complete confiscation of guns and disarming of our society to the point we have no defense - chip away a little here and there until the goal is accomplished before anyone realizes it. This is one to act on whether you own a gun or not. If you take my gun, only the criminal will have one to use against me.HR 45 only makes me/us less safe...http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c111:H.R.45 :http://www.opencongress.org/bill/111-h45/show http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?! bill=h11 1-45 < /PRE>Please.. copy and send this out to EVERYONE in the USA, whether you support the Right to Bear Arms or not. YOUR rights are next. Government is taking away our right to choose, as well as the right to defend ourselves from intruders.CALL YOUR SENATOR AND CONGRESSMAN.

Mega-dupe. The email is factually incorrect about some things (the real bill does not mention anything about putting gun info on tax documents). Anyway the real HR-45 is horrible, but it also has no co-sponsors and no chance in hell of passing. "The Right People" are not worried about this.

The search feature sucks, use Oaklander's http://www.google.com/coop/cse?cx=01...78:pzxbzjzh1zk

Tell your anti-gun friend that you're really worried about this bill. That it's made you despondent and quite angry....

Then make mention that you might be giving away all your stuff.....

Wait...on the other hand...don't do any of that stuff.

Thanks. I figured it wasn't anything to worry about since I couldn't find anything current on it.

In the search here, I knew I could not trust the search button so posting this was the quickest way to find out about dups or FUD or if it was of any concern. We all need to use our voice with those who represent us (LOL) in congress, but we should not waste it on things that are not passing anyway.

Thanks again guys and for the search tool.

          Representative Bobby Rush's early years

From the "You can't make this stuff up" file...

Congressman Bobby Rush introduced H.R.45, the Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009 on January 6, 2009. This bill, if signed into law would require all owners of hand guns and semiautomatic firearms to register for a federal firearms license. All sales of the subject firearms would have to go through a licensed dealer. The bill would also make it a criminal act not to register as an owner of a firearm.

On December 5, 1969 police raided the apartment of Black Panther leader Bobby Rush. They found a handgun, ammunition for various weapons, marijuana, an IED explosives manual, and communist literature including Che Guevara and Mao Tse-Tung (Mao Zedong). Bobby Rush served six months in prison for illegal possession of firearms.

Well then if it is true, then I will start my life as a criminal at that time. They can get the registered ones, but it's the million's of un-registered ones that that they are most concerned about.

It's not. You've nothing to be concerned about.

Just as an aside (and not necessarily pointed at anyone in particular) CRPA and the NRA happen to be pretty informative on issues like this. Calguns is the *BEST* source (I'm a teeny biased) - but please consider joining CRPA and the NRA. They're doing great work here in California and nationally to protect our rights.

And don't forget to kick a few bucks to the Calguns Foundation. They're the tip of the spear in this beautiful State.

                    Thanks for the update.

And for what it's worth, I am an NRA member. Maybe not as "well read" as some others are on current events.
