    Reno wasn't so bad . . .

The Reno gun show was not the mad house that it was the last time I went. If you went there looking for primers, ammo, black rifle parts etc., you probably got what you were looking for, I did. Prices were reasonable for the most part. I picked up several guns, parts, ammo and did not have to fight anyone or settle for something I did not want. Overall a very good trip.

    I was disappointed

Couldn't find my match grade ammo but at a few places. All of those were asking over $4/box more than I just paid elsewhere.

Many prices were no better than I could get online.

Way too much C&R stuff. Lack of gun cases, range bags, cleaning supplies, scopes (new), ammo cans, etc. Basically, I didn't get more than 20% of what I had on my list. I had to go to Cabella's to get a lot of other stuff (and their prices were better than the show's!).

I won't be going back. I think I find more of what I'm looking for at the SF shows.

I think within the last few years California Gun Shows have become much more appealing especially when gas, time, wear and tear is taken into consideration.

Reno still has Cabelas and Scheels though, but thats why God created the internet for me

i was there on friday at opening and it was not crowded at all. i don't remember ever being at that show when it was not crowded. one of the measures i used was the lines and crowds around the miwall tables were not nuts-to-butts.

the prices were good. maybe the last couple of shows with higher than retail prices left a bad taste the some of the show goers mouths. that or the panic buyers ran out of money in the past few months.

The retalers are in for a sorry state by next year, too high of pricing makes people go some place else.
They had to pack up most of what they started with this year.

                    it was a fail

not one glock 17 replacement barrel in the building

no blackdog magazines for the m261/olympic conversion

nobody seems to have ever heard of caa's countdown magazine

i guess they dont make the little $3 puffy fabric rifle sleeves anymore

went to cabellas and their black powder revolver selection was like only 3 left and they didnt have a the big walker type and they didnt have lee 45 acp dies in the little round container

nobody had an old m16 carrier without assist cuts

miwall had primers and no lines so that was good i guess

and a couple tables had the wire pistol brushes

but its fun walking around seeing what people have for sale

some cowboy lookin dude with a 223 ak for cheap and a little old lady pushing a cart full of fake rifles made of wood and dowels

asked the guy with the $600 jennings pistol how he could live with himself

and the guy with the $300 lorcin 380 where he could stick it

got to tell john masen how much his crap sucks to his face

Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.

Tis better to have Trolled & lost, Than to never have Trolled, at all.

                              A case of 9mm 124gr. FMJ reloads was $269.

I did see a 4" Python for $850. Showed wear, but still decent...couldn't figure out why the seller wanted so little for it.
