Thinking about reshuffling my CCW choices

I see CCW as a trade off. The more comfortable something is to actually SHOOT, the less comfortable it is to carry. And vice versa.

For almost 10 years, I am business casual or in a suit. I carry a Seecamp .32 in my pocket and a spare mag in the other pocket. ALWAYS. Even in shorts. The beauty of a gun that seems like a keychain toy.

I also carry a briefcase with a G19/3 and two spare magazines for that.

Last week I was visiting my wife's family in Arkansas and was handed a Sig 938 to carry for the week. What a compromise between the two pistols above.

    Of course, it's off roster.

I can justify another CCW gun if it's something I will actually carry.

So, here is what I am thinking:

    Sig 938.

    Sig 365 and an optic

    Hellcat with an optic.

Thoughts on this range? Thoughts on optics? I know nothing about them other than that I have a Burris Fastfire on a Ruger 22 and it's pretty easy to make good hits with.

    Thanks,

I've a p938 scorpion acquired during the sse era. Good gun, though because its so thin the hotter ammo makes it bite the web of the hand. Otherwise a hoot to shoot.

Any p365 would be my choice. Carries like a pocket, shoots like a full size. Can’t get any better

I had a first gen Shield, so a Shield plus was a simple choice for me but everything you mentioned is a good choice. The optic takes a little training to adjust to. Worst case spend a day at the range with the front taped over for training. Shoot them all and buy what you shoot the best?

I have both Hellcat and P365. I tend to carry the P365 more, but I am torn betwixt the two. Buy both??

Oh yeah, 8 shooters. Just for laughs...

365 is the best carry gun ever imo. Easy to carry, good capacity, easy to shoot, optic ready, a million different variants to make it the size you want.

Carry a P365 with a ten rounder in it and a spare 15 rounder everyday.

I have a p365 with an optic. It feels very small but I find it surprisingly easy to shoot accurately. I know some disagree. I haven’t tried the others on your list.

For optic I was talked into the Vortex CCW Defender due to price and warranty. I like it but my nit pick criticism would be the on/off switch. It works. But it doesn’t have the shake to wake up feature others have. Minor annoyance since the battery life is so good.

This is the off topic section. Most guys posting here don't know jack about guns..

But if you're looking for a new carry gun look at the FN Reflex. It's a single action micro 9 hammer fired pistol. Best trigger on any carry pistol.

From the first three magazines with my Rami to my last range trip it’s been the ideal perfect firearm for me.

I wish these were on the roster. They are amazing.

                        Between a 938 and a 365? 365 hands down.

If I were still in CA that would be my carry choice. In TN, it's a G19.

I’d say pick one or the other P365 and Hellcat as they’re in a same size category. If you’re limited to 3 guns, keep the G19, P938, and one of the former two.

IIRC, you’re in OC so limitless. But depends what you’d qualify for. The P365 is modular and can be made had as a micro or made into a semi-full size.

                            If I can ever get a CCW, I’d get a 365.

Used to carry a Smith & Wesson M&P Shield until the Sig P365 was put on the roster. Now my EDC is a P365 Spectre Comp with a Wilson Combat gripmod and a Holosun EPS Carry optic. Much nicer to shoot than the Shield.
