COSTA MESA GUN SHOW THIS WEEKEND

Any members want to share their experience if they took the opportunity to attend the gun show which started yesterday or anybody going today and tomorrow?

I?m trying to see if there are enough vendors and relevant merchandise for sale. I want to continue to support local merchants and as well do my part in keeping this tradition alive. However, we also want to equate the money spent on admission and parking to a worthwhile and productive trip.

    UPDATE:
I did go today and sharing the following observation:
    1. There were over a dozen firearms retailer spread out in the four buildings. Not as many on display though.
    2. Enough ammo vendors and even reloading vendors. Line did appear long.
    3. No firearms manufacturers booth or representation from what I have seen.
    4. The CRPA booth outside pays for your entrance with the membership.

Not as diverse as we?re used to and not as many vendors. Did my small part that maybe if news gets around that more people are coming back, vendors too will return.

    Wait, what ?
Gun shows at the OC County Fairgrounds stopped happening at the end of 2019. I used to attend the ones run by Crossroads of the West regularly and they were always great. If something as changed and shows are again being put on by Crossroads of the West and they are several buildings full of tables like they used to be, I'll be attending them again in the future.

25 dollar entrance fee, still debating

I'm in the mood to buy a revolver though and extra ammo ,
Two people would be 50 bucks to enter and parking

It covers all 3 days. You get a wrist band when you exit and can come back. I went yesterday. It was quiet. A little disappointing. Not as big as it usually is. But still the Costa Mesa gun show non the less. Nothing for sale outside or in the covered section where all the beer is. All 4 rooms filled like maybe 70%. Decent amount of old vendors, a few typical Chinese tactical gear vendors. Hope more vendors show up today and sunday. I know Friday is harder for some to attend. Im gunna use my wrist band and come back Sunday.

Parking is $12 fairly close up or free if you park across the road at the public park like alot of people used to do and walk. Gate 8 parking off Arlington is for vendors only now

On a side note: I saw a table that had tons of 100% complete Glock slides in various cuts, optic ready, and colors for good deal. Are these things all made overseas in China or Korea? They had no brand. In plain white boxes like the typical unknown gun show upper sellers. Looked nice, just the recoil springs looked cheap (shiny chrome) Im guessing best to stay away?

Yes, I haven't followed it closely but I believe there was an injunction put in place from the B&L Productions v. Bonta CRPA cases. The injunction was against the ban on gun shows on government property.

Well, that's one way to convey you're not a member of the CRPA or NRA without actually stating you're not a member of the CRPA or NRA....

There have only been several announcements of it by the CRPA since October 30, 2023:

They will also probably ask to unload your CCW if you?re carrying.

More likely, require before entry or no entry.

see, that's a problem. if the 2a is serious about their claims that legal gun owners and conceal carriers are safe, they need to stop following these liberal protectionist doctrines. it's the liberals that say conceal carriers are dangerous and not to be trusted, so why are we affirming their beliefs by disarming conceal carriers at these venues? are we saying conceal carriers are too stupid to keep their loaded guns inside their holster? are we saying they will shoot up the venue? 2a supporters need to get serious about what they believe in and have some consistency and logic behind their policy making

Here you are, joined this year and this is your first post ridiculing a member.
First question: do you have a concealed carry permit? In how many states and for how long?
What kind of career are you in and how much does it pay? Are you concerned about possible jail time or just spending your time with trials and judicial process?
Do you spend your own money contributing to organizations that furthers our causes including Calguns.
I ask these questions because it has a bearing on how a person acts. I?ve seen people who got their CCW on the first year and now herald themselves as a fighter for the cause and thinks that they are now well educated on the subject than others who had carried far longer than they have.

I had a concealed carry permit since 1996 and my permits expands to over 40 states. I had jobs after getting out of the service as a grunt where I still carried firearms overseas.
I?m in a career that requires a pristine criminal record and sometimes a certain level of government clearance depending what work I decided to accept. I want to and intend to keep that career that pays me very well.

The fact that some people are very cognizant of laws and limitations does not make them stupid nor puppets. Some people exercise caution not because they are afraid. Some people have more sense than others. Walking in a venue with a concealed firearm is one thing, when asked to take your magazine out of your weapon in order to be allowed in and you decide to not honor that and makes you unwelcome will, have different consequences. It?s a state owned property, and the state may require that.
Don?t assume that I?m stupid for following that or afraid. You?ve never met me or even know what I was and still am. Be wary of assuming something you don?t know about.

Do whatever you believe it that you want to do when confronted in those instances. It?s never right to assume that I or others are affirming their false beliefs by exercising caution. Since it is unlawful to carry co concealed on a plane, or an airport, courtroom or a federal building. Go ahead and impress us by you filming yourself entering the building with a concealed handgun just to say you?re not going to affirm their belief that you should carry there.

I used to go to Costa Mesa all the time. Now that I moved to the mountains I go to San Bernardino or Ontario now. Ontario is coming up this weekend. I`m planning on going.

Actually, there were no metal detectors or inspectors upon entry. A couple of OC deputies were walking around. But it is still OC county fairgrounds which is probably a state owned facility.
