Dismissing the question is just another sign that Californians have been so indoctrinated by the State to flinch, they suffer Stockholm syndrome what with all the registration to buy guns or ammo, fingerprinting, multiple forms of documenting ID and residency, tests, waiting periods, purchasing limits, bans, restrictions - they've come to support such nonsense as a 'good thing' - hell, I wouldn't be surprised that if ASR started requiring fingerprints or a LiveScan to shoot there, many CA gun owners would just simply go along with it and vex anyone that questions it.

They are so normalized to doing whatever the state demands, and are then lost when they are actually presented with the opportunity to bypass, avoid, or not comply with the kings demands.

OakTree Gun Club and Smokin' Barrels are examples of ranges that will hold on to the customer's DL. Anyhow, if you don't like ASR's business practices then go shoot elsewhere.

Last time I went to OakTree was preCOVID and they did hold customers' DL regardless if you did or didn't rent their firearms.

Evans in Orange use to keep a copy of you license on file. I haven't been there for a decade or so... not sure if they are even still around.

I asked for the purpose of that, and all I got was it was the new rule???

If you were using the online waiver, they check your ID to be sure you are indeed the same person that filled out the online form.
I mostly shoot on ASR private bays and all private bays are done with the online waivers now.
