The only gun I have is a Savage 110 7mm Mag for hunting; that's it. I've been to the local indoor range and shot an XD45 and a S & W .38; I must say the wheelguns are much more fun than any newfangled autoloader
.
I'm thinking about getting the Smith & Wesson Model 10 in .38 Special; I've shot it and the thing is a hoot to shoot, especially cowboy action style
I've held a Glock and I really prefer the XD overall in ergonomics, I don't have huge hands and I'd rather have a .45 for home defense where I can actually reach the slide release than a gun with a monster grip. 1911's are great guns, but I think I'll save my money, wait a few years, and buy a high end one than buy a base model now.
At some point I'll probably get a shotgun for home defense but right now I'd rather have something I can plink with, ammo and gun are not too expensive but still good quality, and also can use for home defense. A .357/.38 revolver sounds like the ticket, but I'll wait and see.
