What gun should I buy?

The only gun I have is a Savage 110 7mm Mag for hunting; that's it. I've been to the local indoor range and shot an XD45 and a S & W .38; I must say the wheelguns are much more fun than any newfangled autoloader .

I'm thinking about getting the Smith & Wesson Model 10 in .38 Special; I've shot it and the thing is a hoot to shoot, especially cowboy action style

I've held a Glock and I really prefer the XD overall in ergonomics, I don't have huge hands and I'd rather have a .45 for home defense where I can actually reach the slide release than a gun with a monster grip. 1911's are great guns, but I think I'll save my money, wait a few years, and buy a high end one than buy a base model now.

At some point I'll probably get a shotgun for home defense but right now I'd rather have something I can plink with, ammo and gun are not too expensive but still good quality, and also can use for home defense. A .357/.38 revolver sounds like the ticket, but I'll wait and see.

with your $600 total i would try and find a used 870 18in expess magnum and add a surefire 618 dedicated forearm, this not only covers you for home defense needs but the shotgun platform also allows you to shoot slugs out and engage targets farther away for a shtf situation

get a garand. cmp is almost out.. get em while the geting is good. all that is left are the greek loaners R001GK-SAF* M1 Garand, Springfield Armory $425 in FIELD GRADE and the rack grade. once they are out the gunbroker price will probably go fron $700 to $1k

Big 'ole Blackhawk eh? Nice gun it is. I should probably also add that there is a lady in the house who can barely rack the slide on an autoloader, so a revolver is probably best for home defense.

OK this is my first post, get a Ruger GP 100 and use the rest of $$ on ammo.

Id get a springfield XD or a Springfield 1911...Both good reliable guns

Spend $30 on getting your C&R license, if you don't have one already.

Then, buy a LOT more C&R guns than you would've bought otherwise.

But, I will say that if you're just looking at a one-shot thing... Hakims frequently run around $400, and shooting 8mm mauser out of a drop-mag semi-auto with no appreciable recoil is FUN!

Find a good used Sig in 9mm. You will love the feel, function, and accuracy

Rifle? SKS is alot of weapon for the money plus there are lots of addons available.

Shotgun? Big 5 always has a shotgun on sale for cheap. Can't go wrong with a Remington 870 or the Winchester 1300.

Handgun? So many choices with a 600 dollar budget really. I would (and did) first rent several weapons and narrow down what suits you. Then do research online regarding the guns you have narrowed it down to and make an educated decision. $600 will buy you alot of handgun, especially if you are considering second hand guns also.
