another day, another shooting in salinas

well, just saw on the news another violent day in salinas. anybody from salinas here? if so, what is your opinion of the out of control violence in salinas? my friend told me that, initially his wife did not want him to buy a gun for home defense protection. now, she just picked up her first handgun for protection (springfield xd-9). let's hope that all goes well in salinas.

Salinas is no different than any other town these days. The only difference is they are getting their share of bad press because of the current events. As soon as some other town has a more "news worthy" event happen Salinas will be a mere memory.

Yep, few towns not affected by violence these days.
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.

Salinas used to be a hippie town...maybe that's why: free love enforcement.

            Easy pickins for bad guys.

Just like Santa Ana. Read the OCRegister everyday and you will see the same thing. It must be something to do with sanctuary cities.

I live in Salinas, Salinas leads the state in percentage of gang related killings.
You look at the kids involved in these killings and they look like any normal kid.
The problem is, Salinas is not a normal town. These people won't talk to the police and are in total denial their kids could be in a gang. I will not say much more because I am angry at what these people have done to what used to be a great place to live. It will not go away.

I've driven along the edge on my way to the range and the race track. I have no interest in getting any closer.

In fact I have been to Salinas. My comments were to say that we live in a world of violence. Every city has it's share of bad people doing terrible things. Salinas NOW is no different. Living up my way (Oakland Area) and you will find that Salinas is not really that different. If Salinas is #1 right now in gang related shootings,I still hold out hope for Oakland to finish out the year with a flurry to reclaim the #1 spot.

Get rid of the illegals and their gang-banging spawn, and you will get rid of 90% of the crime in Salinas.
