    Sig sp2022

Three things; lf a sig sp2022 were to be off roster, would it be a highly sought after piece as the other unicorns? How similar is the sp2022 to the hk p30? Is it reliable?

Off roster doubt it gather much interest. Had one years ago meh. Sold it to a friend who wanted it bad. Nothing wrong with it functioned fine, never a problem. Just moved on from decocker firearms.

I had one years ago and sold it. It was fine but I didn't like it as much as others I had or wanted. I don't see it ever being a sought after unicorn

SP2022 is very reliable and accurate, and is highly underrated. it has a decent trigger out of the box. it'll never be a unicorn piece though. they were a great buy when Turners had em for under $400 years ago. French police still use them as far as I know

The SP2022 is the best hammer-fired polymer frame pistol from SIG Sauer.

I wasn’t a fan of the trigger. It wouldn’t like reset properly. I’d have to pull the trigger 2-3 times to get a single round off.

Mine does not function properly with 115g ammo. FTE constantly. It only works well with 124g ammo.

From what I've heard sig is making FFLs who want to stock the M18 also buy a certain amount of sp2022s as part of the deal...

Wish I knew since I bought mine at $600 instead of the new sale price

Don?t think it would be sought after. Everything works fine and never had issues, but I?m not a fan of the trigger.

I pulled mine out not long ago that had sat in the safe sense I got it probably 4 years ago and had only shot a little when I first got it. Ended up putting a few hundred rounds through it. No fails. The trigger, when just feeling it dry fire, isn’t anything special especially compared to a metal sig with a srt or something. It isn’t super consistent all the way through in double action and feels maybe a little heavier than some. Single action is fine, not super crisp and maybe a little heavier as well with a longer reset. But in actual shooting it was perfectly acceptable, I ended up shooting it pretty well. Nothing really stands out good or bad. Grip is fairly comfortable and grippy. Sig is more known for the p2xx series so the polymer sp gets relegated to a budget version of the well known ones so roster or not other polymer guns get more attention and desire. Considering the price and the brand reputation for that era they are a pretty good deal and a nice shooter especially if you like polymer, hammer fired duty sized guns but most people go for some of the more mainstream and usually striker fired guns when it comes to full sized polymer guns.

                      I agree 100%.

Shot my friend's SP2022 last week at the range. 100% factory, no mods. 50rds of 147 gr Federal AE and 50rds of Federal HST 147 gr non + P.

Ran perfect. Zero issues. Rapid fire, strong hand supported at 7 yrds. All in the 10/9 ring.

Decocker didn't brother me a bit. Trigger was fine. I like full size EDC's. Straight forward, easy to run, all business. Wouldn't hesitate to own/carry one.

Isn’t it the ONLY hammer-fired polymer frame pistol from Sig?

It was $400 about 4 years ago. It was the most underrated Sig of all time at that price. It’s still pretty good at current $600. However, the XD was $450 4 years ago and only $500 now. Glock 19 went from $500 4 years ago to $600 now.

SP2022 is not bad at $600, but there are other choices at that price point. It all depends on what you want and what you can shoot better.

I have two Sig 2420's (essentially the same pistol) One in 9mm and one in .40. They are fine pistols and always go bang. And were great at that price point. Used I paid under $400 for each with multiple mags.

I bought my SP2022 in 2018 for $499 + tax & DROS and its been 99.9% reliable and is a 1.5” clover shooter at 10 yards with Hornady 9mm 115 gr. FTX Critical Defense ammo. I’ve got at least 2000 rounds down the pipe with mostly PMC Bronze 115 gr. round nose and ~ 200 rounds of the Hornady 115 CD’s noted above with only a few failure to feed rounds and I believe those were all in the first few hundred shots, I’ve never had a failure to fire or eject round. The only thing I’ve done to it is install Trijicon night sights, it’s become my Night Stand pistol.

I bet you it?s clear out current inventory to ultimately discontinue the SKU as a whole.

The SP2022, was only affordable/entry level Sig product before the M18-CA.

The SP2022 while a fine gun, is more expensive to build compared to (p320/365), doesn?t takedown like any other Sig in the current lineup, and isn?t a crazy cash cow in parts and components.
