Unsolicited "advice" from Oaktree RSO's

Bad advice is everywhere, same thing happens in gun shops.

I rarely ever go to ranges with range staff. I prefer to be my own RSO.

I must say, many ranges need RSOs. Back when I was a regular at the SGVGC, I saw a few idiots every trip. Lots of new gun owners with zero gun safety training.

I was an RSO. I don't know whether an AR is gassed correctly or not. Just watched for unsafe acts.

haha this! Only time I had issues with the RSO was when I brought a smokin hot date to the range with me. Then suddenly all the rule books came out.

I?ve actually had 2 people on separate occasions flip on the cold lights and walk down range while people were shooting. It?s like they thought it he lights were magic and disabled all the firearms. They didn?t say anything. They didn?t check anyone. They just walked out on the range.

Glad the range I belong to doesn't have wandering RSOs. We're on our own. Some days I'm the only person there.

If anyone stands behind me I pull out the Tomcat. That fires ejected brass directly behind me hitting them in the face.

A couple of rounds they scatter to bother someone else.

I do not understand how the ejection pattern of an AR has anything to do with safety on the range. Seems like that RSO is forgetting or avoiding what his primary responsibility is.

Same here. Used to be my go to place back in the day.

I don't have problems with RSO's since they have a thankless job.

My main ranges are ASR and Oaktree and I can't count how many times I've seen shooters violate basic range rules. Of course they act like they've been wronged when they can't follow simple instructions...usually more than once.

Having said that, as others noted, unless someone asks for assistance, stay in your lane.
