Actually, the Miami shootout does have something to do with the .357Sig, but it seems that you don't know what the connection is. It also has something to do with bullet designs too. Both are related, can you figure it out?

One aspect I heard was that a shot, which was to be the fatal shot, took some time to stop the perp, which is an issue and that relates to the above as well.

Again you lower yourself to making childish comments and trying to insult those that you don't know anything about. Perhaps you are speaking more of yourself than anything else.

Put down the KOOL-AID and go back and actually read the posts. You are letting your emotions get the best of you... I know how bad you want the 357SIG to be "the bestest ever." All your emotional posts will not make it so.

If a round can penetrate better than another round, then it will be able to stop a target better than others as it will be able to get to the actual target.

Please explain your tests, but it does not really matter since you have made so many false statements, including attacks, that no one should believe a word that you say.

Back to the playground I see. Again, you make false statements as I do want the .357Sig to be "the bestest ever". If you could read and understand, you would know that I have never shot a .357Sig, so why in the world would I want something that I don't shot to be the best? Clearly, you have an emotion stake in this and your world might collapse if you let facts and reason into your head.

Your "kool-aid" comments are stupid and meaningless, except to show that you can not deal with reality and instead have to make personal attacks in order to try to "win". It is clear that you are the one who is making emotional posts.

I have no dog in this fight, but there's some snakeoil at your link.

Comparing the shooting of two pitbulls, with a one shot stop w/ the SIG v. multiple hits to stop w/ a 9 x 19 proves nothing without the context of bullet placement.

The same thing goes for the officer's report that the SIG gets one shot stops from non fatal wounds, again, without reference to bullet placement.

Hey, any service pistol caliber will work if you do your part, pay your nickel and make your pick.
The way some gunshop clerks spout off, you'd think that they invented gunpowder and the repeating rifle, and sat on the Supreme Court as well.

Almost everything in that link is FUD and you don't need to have quotes from Dr. Gary Roberts to determine that. They're basing everything on energy tansfer and shock. Energy transfer is a myth. Same thing as "neural shock." It's simple physics. For the same reason a gunshot doesn't knock its victim down, is the same reason it doesn't "shock" someone with some unknown force medical professionals have never heard of. Basically what you feel in your hand is about the same force as what the victim receives.

That's in reference to Neural shock and Ed Sanow's claims he makes. The same guy who is big influence on the theories in the link provided at the .357sig page.

Also, I haven't been able to find a direct comparison, only statements like this.

"even though ballistic gelatin shows 16 inches (410 mm) of penetration through heavy clothing (125 grain Speer Gold Dot). The Virginia State Police have had several documented officer-related shootings involving the .357 SIG, and in every case, not only were the felons stopped instantly with one shot (except one who was shot several times while attempting to murder an officer), the bullet either didn't exit the felon, or was stopped in the clothing upon exiting, proving that even at such high velocities, the round when used with adequate expanding hollowpoints will not over penetrate soft tissue."

"The same department has also reported that attacking dogs have been stopped dead in their tracks by a single shot, whereas the former subsonic 147 grain 9 mm duty rounds would require multiple shots to incapacitate the animals."

So, on one hand we have a hot JHP .357 sig and on the other it's the slow FMJ 9mm. Well, I wonder which one has a better stopping potential?

Picking the right ammo is crucial when comparing stats, and depending on who you read it can go either way for the .357. In the end it always comes down to shot placement.

With that said, I'll stick with my 10mm...

There is a difference in the 357 SIG and the 9MM or 45ACP, it is more than a matter of taste. They are as different as the opinions shared here. I feel it is important to note that although they are different they never insult each other. I wish people were more like them.

The part I was talking about was in regards to not just looking at the body, but also what the bullet has to go through in order to get to the real target.

I see less and less pistols chambered in 357 Sig, and less and less 357 Sig ammo on the shelf, looks to me like it's losing popularity.....soon to be classified as obsolete.
