Hey Shak, did did you install the juggernaut kit or did it come that way from the shop? Either way I would go back to the place you bought it and have them take a look at it. It usually requires a little fiddling to get these sorts of kits to work.

Not picking on you OP, but as a broader perspective and generalization: I genuinely don’t understand how people can choose to play dress up with these silly Rube Goldberg devices when just going featureless is available. Yes, paddle grips can be odd, but the entire point of the AR is the semiauto with a detachable magazine.Originally posted by ysr_racerPlease don't bring logic and reason into an interwebs discussion

Featureless my look "neutered", fixed mag is neutered.CRPA and NRA member.

Everyone telling you to go featureless isnt wrong. I had a hellfighter on a rifle and it worked fine in class right until I had to do a double feed malfunction clearance drill.
Cant release mag with bolt back since upper and lower wont separate because bolt is still partialy in buffer tube
Cant put bolt forward due to malfunction
Cant lock bolt because maglock deletes bolt catch.
In a class this is awkward and requires 3 hands and a tool and enough manipulations on a hot weapon to make everyone uneasy. Anywhere outside of a class would be exponentially worse....Comment

Well the guy who told me about this site actually said id be better going featureless but i didnt really understand what he meant by that and this one was complete and on sale so i figured why not. I tinkered with it a bit and modified a part of it. Ill see how it works next time i shoot it. And now i know a little more of what to look for in a future purchase.I went to the range to shoot for the first time, my Ruger 556 (its my first AR). This Juggernaut kit just gave me problems the whole time. The button that releases the receiver wasnt working properly and i kept having trouble getting the magazine out. What do i need to do to not embarrass myself again and just shoot, release the mag, put in a new mag, and shoot again.

Stupid question-Is (was) your bolt forward when you're trying to release the magazine?
I saw this happen at the range today. Bolt to the rear & shooter couldn't figure out why he couldn't manipulate the Hell fighter/mag release.Comment

I went featureless after one double feed. Try clearing ONE double feed without muzzling anyone at the range, and report back on how nerve wracking it is.Comment

Clearing a jam when you have the ability to drop the magazine is difficult enough. Clearing a jam when you can't will not be fun. If I had a mag lock, I'd bring the tools to the range necessary to remove the buffer tube in case of a jam. Go featureless with an ambidextrous safety. Don't make your life so complicated.Comment

I have seven A.R. 15?s. Most of them are upper to high-end models. I have one RAW which is an ATI Omni Hybrid. There?s no way I?m installing that stupid stuff or tampering with any of my high end models. They are all disassembled until I get to my free state home.sigpic

You don't need to remove the buffer tube. Just make sure you have mags that you can remove the bottom plate. All the rounds fall out. And the spring. And the follower... oh nevermind.Clearing a jam when you have the ability to drop the magazine is difficult enough. Clearing a jam when you can't will not be fun. If I had a mag lock, I'd bring the tools to the range necessary to remove the buffer tube in case of a jam. Go featureless with an ambidextrous safety. Don't make your life so complicated."Never!
