Does my 50BMG count? (Of course, I have registered it already.)

      Shooting AW on BLM Land

Can the County give permission to shoot on BLM Land??? If so anyone ever get this permission?
If statists were consistent in their evaluation of human nature, they would be giving away ammunition with condoms for free in schools.

Post-ban I got sucked into the whole OLL thing but eventually it just reminded me why I sold instead of registered in the first place. The only thing you can really shoot with "Assault Weapons" registered or not is paper and targets because the Department of Fish & Game is not issuing tags for humans.
Hey Zumbo are you saying you can't use an "AW" for hunting?
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

              great share.

I had quite a collection of AWs that I inherited from my father before the ban, but I was out of state with the Navy for the entire registration period and didn't find out about it until it was too late. Drove them over the border and sold them in AZ, wasn't anything else I could do. Damn shame.
I've never seen an American flag burned at a gun show.

                      That must have hurt.....

What really bugs me is that when I die, I can't even pass my AW Airsoft guns down to my kids....My wife will have too destroy them or sell them out of state...

Here's my one finger salute to the CA politicians that made this possible.

It is a word conjured up by the media and anti-gun politicians to scare the populace back in the 80's. The title 'AW' has NO revilance to ANY of my semi-auto centerfire rifles.
Sorry, but that is just not true. I have several books published in the 80's that use the term "assault weapons" to describe EBRs. The term was first used to describe semi-auto military styled rifles by the gun industry, not the Brady Bunch.

Yes, but you should always contact the county sheriff and local BLM office to make sure that BLM hasn't leased that property and to make sure that you're shooting in the right area. If not, the sheriff will tell you where it would be best to go, in most cases.

And it was the Calaveras County Sheriff that supposedly had the authority to shut down the BLM shooting area near Campo Seco. Bay area transplant wench (postmaster, too) complained. That's all it took. But hey, at least motocross, horseback riding, and camping are still allowed (none of which I partake in). Wench!

Are you sure you are not confusing "assault weapon" with "assault rifle" ?

                                Register what?

Write the CA DOJ, I have talked to them, they will send you forms to register them. Being away on military is a good excuse and nothing you could help. They will let you post-facto register them if you were a CA resident before you left/PCS'd.

For me, I was a criminal overnight, but I was also in the military. I figured hey, I am a felon, but they can come to Afghanistan to get me if they want

Gay laws mean gay measures. The guns sitting in a box did no harm to anybody. As I am sure that the other 80% in CA not registered are also, doing nothing more than sitting collecting dust in a safe or garage somewhere. Quite the effective gun control measure there.

You know in TX my neighbors saw me unloading my car from the range, came over, and he broke out my AK right there to check it out, right on my driveway with kids and moms who walked by and thought nothing of it. I guess since most men hunt the women are used to camouflage guys and guns during hunting season and just roll their eyes and go about their business.

I am not sure you could do that in CA without fear of getting a visit by P.D. to check your Socialist registration# or party membership card.
