    Glock frames $500 3D printer!?

Uh, Ender 3 Pro is under $200 and one can print Glock frames, AR15 lowers and AR10 lowers with minimal skills and effort. Enough working space to print 8 Glock 26 frames per run.

$20 for a 1kg spool of PLA+ yields a lot of final product.

You want to print in nylon, ASA or carbon fiber super nylon you got your work cutout for you ... couple that with post printing remelt/annealing and you have a final product just as good as an injection molded factory part.

I worked at Xerox on the team that tested components for the just invented color copier---before that, all copies were B&W. The Feds were SUPER concerned that color copiers would make it easy to copy money---and they were right! You can't stop progress, you can only learn to live with it...
Criminals will continue to be criminals because that's what they do---making more laws against something will not stop new inventions from being abused...

neato, I guess, but needs better marketing IMO.

STL files of all the parts (which I don't know squat about and I dabble in SolidWorks) but no Consumer Friendly "big pic" of WTF the printed parts are and how they differ, etc.

I wish the hobby industry would embrace the technology. I don’t like paying over $100 for a 1/48 scale model kit with about 25 cents worth of plastic in it.

You are not paying for the plastic. You are paying for the guy who had to create the model.

We build actual airplane parts on government contracts. We have all the data, but even then you still have to spend the time to take the tabular data to create the mold line of the skin. It takes a long time to do that.

This, and unless the product is made in large quantities of units the cost will be high.

I supply parts to these dudes.

Some of the stuff is legitimately next-level.
