3 D printing is getting scary good.

I'm floored by the levels of 3D printed guns nowadays. I'm excited to see what the next few years will offer.

Until SCOTUS opines expect more and more states to ban personally manufactured firearms.

Wait until A.I. takes over control of 3D printing. That should be entertaining.

There will need to be all kinds or new rules, fees, regulations and of course taxes for whatever people start to make, including guns and various weapons. The insatiable need to tax and regulate things is too much for politicians to resist.

          That is frikken insane!

What are all the gun ban states going to do now? Ban 3D printers?

They will try to ban the CAD files. BTW, I would not want to shoot a gun printed on a non-industrial 3D printer.

They will essentially do anything in their powers to limit 3D printing, though I do admit that it is getting scary good, I have seen instances where someone wasn't able to differentiate 2 Glocks from one another just off first look.

They can't tax what they don't know about. The entire point of 3d printing is to do away with the corporate and government middle man/extortionist and make gun manufacturing truly end user controlled like in the very old days.

There is a bill in the CA Assembly to do just that.

There's a guy with a youtube channel that prints Glock frames on a cheap printer, under 500 bucks. He gives his files for free.

There are many such people. There's nothing special about these files, they're everyday cad .stl files. A guy could go download it from defense distributed or some other website or even private link at a library or some public internet kisk, save it to a thumbdrive, then print it at home, there's absolutely no way to track this. this is why the government is completely stymied on how to deal with "ghost guns". Now they want to ban 3d printers.
