    Believe In Constitutional Carry?

I know CA requires shooting qualifications for CCW. Many, not all, other states do as well.

Interested in how many believe Constitutional Carry is a good thing? IE no qualification shooting.

I believe it's a good thing as one can sufficiently determine their own level of satisfaction.

I don't think you should have to qualify. If you purchased a gun legally and want to carry it you should be able to. But you still have responsibility for every bullet that leaves that gun.

If you've only gone to the range once and are forced to draw your weapon and shoot you better not limp wrist it and put a round in the innocent that was in the area or you're going to jail.

We need more personal responsibility in this country.

I absolutely do. Everyone has a right to defend themselves, including the old timers who may not see well but could use the presence of a firearm as a deterrent.

Believe? It's a fact many states - no belief is required just acceptance of factual reality.

1.) It is a good thing, representationally, to use in future court cases as 'sense of the people' and 'sense
of over half of state legislatures".

2.) As it stands now, many people may get in trouble due to Federal GFSZ laws (Fed Gun Free School Zone
Act), as amended, in late '90s.

'Constitutional carry' and 'reciprocal carry' are useless in school zones (1000' from *edge*, not center, of a school
property). Schools are poorly marked on maps and this is an easy violation - churches have K-3 day schools etc.
The only exemption to this Fed law is if you have a CCW from that actual state or locale, period.

"But Bill, they're not bustin' for that!" - yep. Not directlym and 99% of people will violate with impunity because no
                  self-defense activity occurred.

But once you DO have to utilize a firearm for SD purposes in a school zone, you and your lawyer will have to document
your behavior to not be up on assault/murder charges. Everything will be fine, except that docmentation to 'competent
authorities' makes it gift-wrapped for a Fed Asst US Attorney.

Even a no-jail minimum-fine misdemeanor violation+confiction of Fed GFSZ will result in your loss of gun rights, only
                  'fixable' by Presidential pardon.

95% of people should NOT use constitutional carry til this is fixed. It's nice but not worth the risk to your gun rights.

Constitutional Carry here in the Great State of Tennessee. You can carry open or concealed and there is no limit as to how many different guns you can use.

The only reason why you need a permit is so that you can legally carry in other states. Currently 40 states honor a Tennessee carry permit.

It is not only fairly common to see people open carrying, but no one seems to pay any attention. If you tried that in Commiefornia, you would have the SWAT team on you in an instant.

I can't express just how much I love it here.

Speaking just from the perspective of civil rights, Constitutional Carry should be the norm and there should be no additional requirement, much like there is no training requirement to posses a gun in most states, including CA. We don't have training requirement to buy a chainsaw or table saw, and those are much more dangerous to general public.

However, heed the warning Rick Bill posted above about GFSZ. And that's not the only minefield out there. Federal buildings, especially post offices and their parking lots (yes, parking lot around the post office) can get you in all sorts of trouble, some with or without local CCW permit. This all needs to get cleaned up, and it likely will in near future. At the moment, we need to get rosters and AWBs out of the way, then work on fixing the rest of the system.

Maybe we should start requiring training and licensing for people with penises, because you know how dangerous those things can be….
