    Cannon EV6040 gun safe

    Hi All.

I was wondering if anyone has an experience with aforementioned safe (http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product...gnDesc1&Sp=C)?

Costco has it for $999 and looks like they are going on sale for $799 in a few days.

It'd be great to hear an opinion on what it is compare to say this Winchester WT-5928 (http://www.safes4you.com/store/gunsa...tion_flyer.jpg).

Thanks in advance for any info.

not much difference in the two safes. the big thing that would make me choose one vs another is the thickness of the metal, not the wall or door thickness, and cost.

            Good safe, I have one.

Hell of a buy at that price too.

How would this rank to the sentry safe from last month? My stack on is still in the box on the pallet in my garage.

From what I can tell, most of the Costco/ Sam's Club type safes (yes, I know they aren't "safes") are all very similar from a security and fire resistance standpoint.

I have the EV 900 (taller, wider) and like it a lot. Well made enough.

As to the post about the Stack On, what model did you get? Most Stack Ons are better suited for storing ammo than guns. IIRC, some are not even CA approved as gun safes. I may be wrong.

i think its stack on. its the safe that costco had on sale last month. its about the same size and is 30 minute rated coming in at 600 lbs.

Good. Sounds like one of the real "safes" they sell. A lot of their cheaper ones are advertised as safes but are no more than a steel storage cabinet.

Plus, if it is CostCo bought, then it most likely a better end of the product line. Use it well!!!

I just have to decide if I should return the sentry and get the cannon. I do like the power outlet built in to keep a golden rod running and to power a light.
