Not really. That's a West German P226 right there and they are very nice guns, cosmetic wear notwithstanding. I have a certain fondness for guns with, shall we say, a bit of finish wear.

Not to highjack the thread, but a year or so ago I found a rather ugly Sig P220 in a local gun store. It was probably an LEO trade in and at some point in the past it had been heavily slathered with black paint, complete with runs in the finish.

What attracted me to it was that it was a German made, the price was right ($450 OTD) and it came with an extra mag. I picked it up and proceeded to remove the paint. The before pics don't do justice to just how ugly the finish was.

          Before:

After a complete disassembly and a one hour soak in lacquer thinner and adding a new set of genuine Sig grips:

This particular P220 has proven to be one of the softest shooting and most accurate .45acp pistols I own. In fact, I would have to say it is easily on par with my HK USP 45.

So the moral of the story is don't be a snob about a gun just because it looks a little rough around the edges.

            Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Go down and read the rest of their ad. They clearly say that they will ship to ALL 50 STATES. As well as what I copied and pasted.

Honestly, the P226 and P220 are my favorite shooting centerfire handguns.

Thats beat up? It looks used but not beat up. Just some finish wear on the slide. Thats the older stamped carbon steel slide with the blue finish. Sig will re-blue those and it will look brand new. Those slides are not as strong as the newer stainless milled slides.

Looks like the black paint did a good job protecting the frame and slide.

Love my P220 Carry and miss my west German P226 that I sold to one of the moderators here. Recently picked up a P229 DAK that looks like it could tell some tales. I've got no issue with honest wear on a metal gun.

I wonder what the story is on that gun??? First of all, I have not seen any P226's with import marks like that. It has an import mark on it so it was not brought over here new/made for sale in the US. I know my West German P226 does not have an importers mark. Based on the serial number it was made in 1991. I am not sure exactly what year the grip style switched but I thought it was slightly before that. I have an early 1990's Sig that came with the newer style grips. This has the same grips as my 1982 P6.
