I am working on my free form1 applications for all my braced pistols this week.
They are going to live out-of-state until I move there to enjoy them.Randall Rausch

Unfortunately, there are people that don’t know how to occasionally have simple, mindless fun. Everything has to have a specific purpose. I feel sorry for them.Last edited by highpower; 04-21-2023, 3:02 AM.MLC member.

Sorry, I guess I have too much respect for ammunition to be using it up on a largely useless weapon with a barrel that is about a foot too short.

I have mini Draco and I can put lead on the steel at 50 yards no problem using a single point sling to brace it. I have only shot it twice because it is not super comfortable to shoot and ammunition is so expensive now. If it was back in the day where I was getting a thousand rounds of 7.62 x39 for around $65 I probably would mess around with it more. Right now it is loaded in my safe with a 75 round drum magazine in it.
I think the concussion coming off of it is fairly similar to an AR pistol. Some of that is going to have to do with the muzzle device you have on it and where you are standing. The felt recoil is significantly less in an AR pistol and that is largely because of the long recoil and buffer in an AR. To me, shooting an AR rifle is almost comparable to shooting a .22. Shoot an AR rifle then a bolt action in .223 and you will notice a difference. For some reason I figured an AK would have less blast and concussion than an AR. Maybe because the velocity is lower. The pressure is probably similar though, and a 10.5 inch AR is really obnoxious. I don't even have a can I can put on an AK.
Ima have to re-think this a bit."Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."

Some of us have enough ammo that we could dump a 30 round mag into the dirt every weekend for the rest of our lives and not run out.
Do you dislike when classic cars do burnouts, dry aging meat, and when jets do flybys at air shows as well?
I bet you're fun at parties.Comment

There is no problem getting an AK pistol in CA.
It just needs to enter the state in a compliant manner.
You need to have a father/mother/son/daughter that lives out of state and can ship it to your FFL who will accept intrastate family transfers.
Alternatively, your roster exempt friend can PPT one to you.
If you don't have bloodline family out of state or a roster exempt friend, then you are stuck paying the in-state premium for one by PPT.Randall Rausch

Aeon-Tac in Garden Grove, CA sells single shot / no gas port drilled, Comp-Mag / Fixed Mag, Bulgy Parts, AK Pistol made by "The Armory."
$1800.
After you finish the Dros, you take it back to Aeon-Tac and they send it out to "The Armory" and 2 weeks turn-around, you get your AK pistol back with gas port drilled.
+ $200.
So for a total cost of $1800 + tax + dros fees + $200 gets you a AK pistol in CA, that is made from unmatching Bulgy parts kits.
That is way cheaper than $2500+ AK pistols in the marketplace.
As a cheap-o, that is still about $1500 more than I am willing to spend on a AK pistol lol.Comment

I thought modifying an SSE to a semi wasn't legal? I was eyeing this last night:
A San Diego gun store for California Legal Guns and tactical equipment not found anywhere else. We carry the best selection California Legal Rifles, Pistols and Shotguns. Also, a well-priced source of firearms among all San Diego Gun Store.
Too bad I don't have friends or family in high places.Comment

My understanding is that you cannot take a handgun that was originally made as a semi-auto and change it to single shot to get around the roster like we used to in the old SSE days. That said, I thought that if you bought a firearm that originated as a single shot and then converted it to semi-auto that was okay. Someone correct me if I am wrong.
