Who has an AK pistol?

I was reading a story about an AK pistol, and now I'm interested.

Anyone have one? I've never had one, and I've seen in movies how the bad guy (AK's are always in the hands of a bad guy) holds it with just a straight left arm and bangs away. No sling, no brace, no stock. How practical is that?

Assuming the brace ban sticks, I'm not using a brace (obviously). I don't want to spend the money to sbr it because it's just going to be a screw-around gun.

One I'm considering is a PSA, with a 10.5 inch barrel.

You can use a compmag. I used to have a Draco and an Arsenal sam7k. Honestly they both really sucked to shoot without a brace and ate just novelty guns if that’s the case. I sold before fixed mags we’re required and that makes them even more pointless.

7.62x39 is pretty hard to control anything but single, spaced apart shots in a pistol.

Do they have a pin and weld 13.7/14.5? That might be a better option

I’ve got a mini-Draco 7.75” barrel. You’re not gonna be TV shooting it, at least not for long or accurately. Awkward to use without a brace, but still surprisingly reliable and shootable for what it is. Do recommend the 10.5” over my 7.75 barrel, screw around gun is a good description. Got mine in 2014, can’t believe how much they cost today. How much is the PSA version.

I think AK pistols look awesome but aren't very practical without a brace or stock. I always wanted an M92 but without a brace, it's just a novelty. In my opinion, for the best of both worlds, get an underfolder. I love my Polish AKMS.

I used to have a reasonable pile of surplus magazines too, paid maybe 5 bucks each on average. But almost all of them were in my storage unit that got robbed.

I'm also shocked how loud and how much concussion comes off of a Draco.


Friend with 07 has a dealer sample krink. It is a blast to shoot.
