    Kahr CW9

Does anybody ever use The CW9? I have my CCW class coming up in about a month. I am seriously considering using one of these and carrying it. I like the slim single stack design and the fact that it?s got no external safety. I?m very little to catch on. I?ve never personally used one so I am looking to get experiences or opinions from people that have.

I bought one for my 13 to shoot. I hate it, I can?t figure out why but my groups open up to 8-10? at 15 yards with it I have better groupings with my Ruger LCR. It would be a sweet carry gun though. If you?re in the Central Valley feel free to pm me and you can try before you buy

CE9 is a fine gun. You have to like the DA style trigger and you have to used the slide release and not sling it or you may get FTF issues.

Mine is accurate and easy to carry.

I thought Kahr was good. Maybe a Shield is a better choice.

I?ve owned both, PM9 and Shield. Sold the Kahr, still have the Shield. In my opinion the Kahr is a fine gun if you plan on staying true to that platform. But if most all of your shooting is with Glock type handguns(you are a Glock guy, if memory serves me correct) you will be much better off with the shield.

The CW9 is definitely easy to conceal. No doubt about that. The trigger is double action. Long but smooth. I also own a shield. I tend to shoot better with the shield compared to the kahr. Maybe due to the trigger so to me the shield is a better gun in my hands. Magguts also makes a plus 2 spring kit for the oem mag bodies.

Maybe I'm the oddball here but I sold my Shield before I sold my CW9. It was my carry gun for a couple years. The only reason I got rid of it was because my wife got a P238 and I liked it so much had to get a P938. Now I'm a Sig snob.

The CW9 is hard for me to shoot well. I use a Hogue grip sleeve which helps a bit. Definitely the most challenging gun I've ever shot. I wouldn't trust myself shooting it past point blank range.

The Shield is much easier for me to shoot.

Thumbs up on my CW9. Very accurate, slim, lightweight, reliable, rugged, affordable, and with simple operations. Talon grip tape was the only change I've made to mine.
The long trigger can take adjustment (and reveal poor trigger technique), but it provides an extra layer of safety against adrenaline-fueled discharge errors.
I once switched back to a Shield immediately after a session with the CW9, and although I was aimed downrange and on target, touched off the Shield's trigger before I intended to, not realizing that I was exerting any pressure on it. That's not a bad thing; it reminded me of what happens to my fine motor control under the influence of adrenaline, and reinforced my preference for the Kahr trigger for defensive carry. It's an extra measure of caution against a potentially life-changing error, that, to me, doesn't negate its functional utility at all.
I recommend you try one, and if your patterns are large, examine your trigger work. It's probably not due to a bad firearm. Kahrs are well designed and manufactured, per my and others' experience and research.

I like my CW9 alot. The only thing I did was replace the trigger with a M-Carbo replacement. Easy to install improved the trigger pull.

They’re good guns, but the trigger takes some getting used to.

I sold mine off to a buddy, replaced it with a smaller CM9

The Kahr shoots great for me. If that was the only pistol I owned, I’d keep it on me and never think twice.

I have a CW9, it's a great gun. It is currently my EDC. It is not for everyone, just like Blocks aren't for everyone. Everyone knows the you're one of the biggest Block Fanboys on the forum. Because of that this may not be the gun for you.

This gun is for someone who has mastered the long double action trigger pull, like on a revolver. I carried a 686 for a few years for work. I shot it once a month to make sure I was proficient with it. I also shot it in falling plate competition at the old Ontario Indoor Range. So, I am very comfortable and confident with this gun. You may not be, that doesn't make this a bad gun.

If you're looking for a single stacked 9mm pony up the money and buy the skinny Block so many of you Blockheads like.
                              Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.
