What Happened to $$Brownells$$?

Brownells used to be the place to go for everything and at good prices that were made great by adding the ffl discount and the occasional free shipping or 10% off coupon.

Now, their prices are often higher than even MSRP on the manufacturers site, they are out of stock constantly and their shipping is insane. Even with coupons, they are still more $$ than PA (who also has ridiculous shipping).

Also- $7.5 shipping for a muzzle shim kit- didn't they used to have small item shipping or was that Midway?

Shipping prices have gone up a ton in the past two years. $7.50 shipping seems very reasonable for tracked shipping. Even if they ship USPS first class, you are looking at $4.50 (or more) in actual shipping, about $0.50 for the box, packing materials, thermal label and then...obscene labor costs for whoever packs the order.

I've been getting nice prices at Brownells lately (the 03 FFL discount helps on many items).

Shipping prices have gone up all over.

I always try to buy from them due to the Lifetime Return policy. It's changed recently in that, after 45 days, you get a Brownells gift card vs a refund but that's still WAY better than any other retailer. And the return shipping is free.

I ship patches USPS first class with tracking, a 4 oz almost flat mailer is between $4 and $5

I just made a purchase from Brownell's that was considerably cheaper than buying it from the manufacturer directly and the shipping was free.

There is a way to buy from Brownell?s cheaper, they sell a special tool for $79.99 to do that.

For AR stuff- I typically use PA nowadays. I know my cart items may be different than others but even with codes- Brownells is %15+ higher.

I am finding Lanbo's, KAK, AR15discounts and Damage Industries to offer quality items at much lower prices.

The most recent one was for patent infringements due to them selling another vendors products.
