BLM LAND SHOOTING AREA HELP

Look up the map I posted before. Pretty much everything past Barstow is BLM land. Just pick any road to exit off of and find a spot off in the Hills. The map also includes places of interest, I would say start with those.

Drive east to Imperial county. The BLM land over there is open all year to shooting I believe

I find it funny that some will complain about the government denying access to "public lands" but do exactly the same thing to "their spots" which is also located on the same public lands.

Head north on the 395 about 10 miles past Kramer Junction. I've found that the off roaders tend to stay on the west side of the 395. Make sure you find a good back stop.

Dude, get on BLMs website, find some land and shoot. Look at the area on google maps with satellite and topo features on. Not hard to figure out.

I'd suggest once you find the spot, call and chat with Ranger office.

Write down name of Ranger with the notes - date and time.

When shooting
Have a fire extinguisher visible
Have a shovel visible.
Clear impact area.
Have a bin liner visible


Rangers can be major jerks. When they show up, you look like a good person.

Ready for fire

Ready with name of ranger you already spoke with to verify things are OK.



And some areas don't allow wolf / bimetalic bullets

I love these spots, but everyone shooting out there should take a truckload or 2 of garbage back with them, or it'll end up shut down like Kitchen Creek back in the 90's

It does not dissuade them, shooting just funnels them into lanes that are easier to patrol/enforce

Do you think it’s funny that all of my old shooting spots are closed down except the one we guard by not spreading its location around the internet. Most of us do a great job keeping it clean.

When I shoot I don't even leave shotgun shells as I reload for everything. I shoot steel, biodegradable clay and have had the same sighting in/verification box for years. I must admit in my younger years I have left a monitor or two.
