    Private party prices.

I haven't been in the used market for awhile- what is the deal with the asking prices in the marketplace? What am I missing?

Triple the price of new and other sites from models I've seen and checked out.

Does off list make the price that much more? Need to know I think I'm sitting on thousands.....

Yes, off-Roster has that price effect. Limited supply, as the only legal sources are
    - transfer (including inheritance) from out of state from parents/grandparents
    - sales by LE (the 'right kind' of LE)
    - folks who move into CA and bring off-Roster handguns with them.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

Its not just off roster, stuff for sale here is gold plated. All of it.

      Is a gen 5 G19 worth 3x a gen 3? To some i guess.

I really want a 939, but i cant stomach paying that premium. I dont blame the sellers, I blame Sacto, but i cant make myself pay the premium.

Market for "Unobtainable" (in Calif.) is self-regulating---that is guns are priced by judging what the current owner thinks it will bring---offer less if you see something for sale that hasn't sold for a long time---sometimes that works...
I found myself with too many guns or dupes a while back---it was during the China Virus panic buying---sold several guns at what I thought were really stupid high prices, but people didn't even try to bargain---they just said I'll take it and 100% of them were true to their word and happy to have them! Ammo too...
                Whatever the market will support...

Off roster prices have been skewed way past tolerable for a long time now, it's been a matter of "you gotta pay to play" as of lately.

I see people selling on roster guns used for more than I can buy new. The Calgun deal days are over . A few years back I bought a CZ SP-01 for $550 , mint. Just broken in at 1000 rounds. I saw a P-01 recently listed for more than I could get it for new after taxes and fees.

It’s not just here . WW2 era 1911a1 slides have doubled . I watch for certain gun parts and deals are few and far between. I bought a 1944 Ithaca slide for $400. Felt ripped off. Saw one sell for $700. Colts go even higher.

The cost of ammo/reloading components far outweigh the purchase cost of the gun, so if you are going to shoot it a lot, my $0.02 just get what you want

Yes, agreed I want to pay msrp too and will be happy when the roster goes away, even though I have paid up for some off rosters I really want

Just ignore these sellers like most of us do and you get to keep your money and they keep their unsold guns because in the end nobody really forces anyone to deal with them. If you want to pay these prices and don’t care then that’s your business.

Its not Calguns its this state. If you goto CZ website, the CA CZ version is almost double what it is in a free state.

Yes off-roster sales are a wonderful scam side job for “law enforcement”.

                              Dont line their pockets.
