got a call from the sheriff

just got a call from the Mendocino county sheriff telling me he just signed my CCW and it going in the mail tomorrow.

me: "you called just to tell me that?"

sheriff: "if we're going to make you jump through hoops just to exercise your 2nd Ammendment rights, the least you should expect is a call from the sheriff."

thats 2 1/2 weeks from paying fees and fingerprinting to CCW. i took the class on june 6 & 7. that would be 7 weeks from class to permit.

Just curious - how many handguns did you put on the license? I know the DOJ allows up to four, but some agencies restrict the number, for example, mine from Santa Clara SO's restricts it to two.

we are allowed 3 handguns, i only own 2, but i'm working on it.

the luitenant that interviewed me said to keep a log of my training in case i have to use it. "if you shoot 4 rounds into a soda can thats a four inch group, log it just in case."

Tom is a good guy, and calls me and my wife when we renewed our CCW's. I have four guns on my permit now and I will be adding a fifth soon.

You can have more than three guns on a CCW. The permit only lists space for three.
