I was tempted to get a utah ccw so I could carry in nevada. But figured I go to nevada to gamble, drink, and go whoring. Maybe not the best times to ccw. Just kidding about the whoring. Now not even the option, nevada no longer recognizes utah licenses to carry.

That is a great report. I am always happy to hear and read about positive encounters with LEO's, thanks for the post."If Congress can do whatever in their discretion can be done by money, and will promote the General Welfare, the Government is no longer a limited one, possessing enumerated powers, but an indefinite one, subject to particular exceptions."

From my not so humble point of view the best way to overcome the problems in Kali is to obtain as many non-resident ccw as possible that will give you the most coverage when traveling.
I have five non-resident ccw (Soon to be six when I go To Las Vegas this coming weekend to train for and apply for Nevada) that allow me to carry in thirty-four states. Since we travel quite a bit I can excercise my 2A rights when I am away from PRK!"Life Is Hard. It's Harder When You're Stupid"-John Wayne!

i seriously LOL'd at that. i could totally see it happening! not all cops are gun nuts, but the ones that are seem to appreciate a savvy civilian now and again.
jeeze, for all that trouble, tho, i would have asked the rental place to let you pick up another van at another location. what a hassle!

July 4th weekend and no minivans available anywhere! There were six of us traveling with luggage so a smaller vehicle was not an option as we were cramped to begin with!

Curious; If the van had one, why didn't you swap the front plate?"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself...A murderer is less to fear. According to LEO In Florida cars are only required to have one licence plate. Some have two but law only requires one and the van I had only had the one and then none when it was stolen!

Did you at least get a huge discount on your rental? How can they seriously believe that you can enjoy your vacation when you are getting pulled over so much because of their fault.Originally posted by 69Mach1The virgin requires more work (don't they all

Seems to me that the only "non professional conduct" was yours when you accepted a vehicle that wasn't properly attired (plate attached). Kudo's to you for your behavior but the negligence you showed by not doing a complete inspection of the vehicle and comparing the registration to the vin/ to the license plate, could have caused you much more grief.
I'm glad all turned out well for you.

you assume the plate wasn't on the vehicle when he picked it up at the rental agency. The OP stated that the plate was stolen.Seems to me that the only "non professional conduct" was yours when you accepted a vehicle that wasn't properly attired (plate attached). When I called the rental company they informed me that the car could not have made it out of the lot passed the security guard who checks you out of the renatl lot if the vehicle did not have a plate as he compares rental contract with plate on car.
This means it was stolen within the four hour or so time frame between renting the car and being stopped by LEO. We made several stops during that time and it could have been taken at one of the stops or by condo we rented in Florida Keys.
The rental company gave me $200.00 discount off rental cost for my trouble!

That's good that you got a discount. I remember getting 40% my hotel because the freaking key card got deactivated everytime I left the room.Originally posted by 69Mach1The virgin requires more work (don't they all

It would be nice if the LEOs in your state, knew the laws as well as the LEOS in Florida know theirs and repected them....Its funny how I work in the Medical business and we are trained yearly, mostly on stuff we already know. But LEOs are not. They should be trained up to current law and changes, specially related to firearms: OLL, UOC, CCW, etc..............Comment
