I detest that overpriced place. Just because they are one of the few places around, that doesn't mean their policies make sense.

    Is critical thinking completely gone?

With all due respect OP, you may be taking it a bit far with the idea that the QR codes are somehow being fed into the belly of the beast for tracking purposes.

It's most likely due to an insurance or bonding regulation of some sort.

The staff there are honest, good hearted, family oriented people who are far from agents of the En-DoubleU-Oh.

Sometimes there can be a bit of a wait, but for 2 hours in a private bay... it's well worth the money.

        Just my 2 cents.

The doj has a record of the guns and ammo you buy, and for many people at least a partial list of guns they own. CCW? Might as well pull your pants down for the IA with all the information they collect. But yeah the range waiver is where they are going to get you..

            OP is just paranoid.

            Good points mentioned above.
But what truly concerns me it that they want you to scan their safety waiver bar code as well as provide email and home address. What am I actually doing by scanning this barcode ? What is being installed onto my phone ?
Probably just pulling up a webpage.

Scan the code, and copy the link without opening the result. Open an incognito browser window and paste. See what you get. Odds are it's nothing malicious.

overpriced. it's for rich retired old folk. someone was shot and killed there by ricochet due to the way their berns are designed. there's a wooden fence on top that deflects bullets downward into other lanes and shooting areas. there's earth packed between the fences that are meant to catch the bullet, but they aren't maintained or packed properly, often times the earth crumples or is washed or blown down. these issues were brought up multiple times to the range officers and managers there, and emails and phone calls were made to the owner well before the fatal accident ever occurred.

i would never sign a waiver at a place where the design of the berns facilitates your death. that's like signing up to die.

from what i understand the families of the victim never got any compensation aside from donations, and they ended up taking his body back to his family in singapore for burial, washing their hands of this mess called america, where gun hating judges and lawyers will ironically side with the owner of a shooting range whose notorious negligence led to their son's death.

When they installed their back to back shooting ranges many people called it that soneone will die from that stupid choice.
