Pepper Spray Recommendations.

I've heard of Saber Red MK VI Stream. Also the POM spray or stream. Any others you might recommend? Just need to replace some expired ones. Thanks.

I carry POM but, haven't used it, yet.
Plus, it's tiny compared to a full size gun.

Fox Labs and Sabre Red would be my first two choices...in that order. POM gets good reviews but I don't know much about them. Remember that 2.5 oz is the maximum legal size in Kommifornia.

I have Sabre Red, but now prefer Pom. Its can is designed so you can get it ready faster that Sabre red. It doesnt have a lock like Sabre, you simply slip your thumb under a flap.

Freeze +P is the worst stuff that I’ve ever been exposed to. It’s a mixture of OC and CS tear gas. It feels like someone kicked sand into your eyes while you’re choking on top of the burning from the OC. I got sprayed with it 16 years ago plus multiple area exposures through the years and hate it to this day. I don’t know if it’s available to civilians though.



I’ve seen people keep fighting after being sprayed with normal OC but in my experience, Freeze +P had better results. Unfortunately my department switched from it to Sabre Red. It still works pretty good but I preferred the old stuff.



Nothing beats hosing someone down with an MK-9, though. Unfortunately, they aren’t that concealable and they’re bigger than 2.5 oz.

Bad idea. It’s considered pesticide. Could easily be construed as poisoning, or using chemical weapons.

Under CA laws/regulations...

Bear/wasp spray is classified as an economic poison (pesticide).

Using it on humans is considered assault with a deadly weapon and determination that its use is justified is the same as shooting them with a firearm or stabbing them with a knife.

You can do that legally, but pepper spray is 'shoot and scoot' - if you use up one, you ought to be leaving the scene.

Additionally, bear spray is very weak compared to pepper spray used on humans. Bear spray used on a bear is meant as an irritant to make them leave. Pepper spray on a human is used to incapacitate them so you can leave.
