I know this has probably been asked and if there's a thread about it, I haven't found an actual answer. But, how the hell do I purchase ammo in California? I stocked up years ago and haven't bought ammo in a while. Wanted to try a heavier weight bullet as an experiment.
I just talked to a local shop and they said I can only purchase ammo if I have a firearm registered to the address on my ID. But I've moved since purchasing my last firearm. He said I could also do a one-time BG check but it takes up to two weeks. He then said the easiest way to buy ammo is to buy a new gun lol. Right. Like I'm gonna buy a gun just so I can buy a 20-round box of ammo...
Is all of this accurate?
It's hard enough to find ammo. They have two boxes of what I need (only shop in the entire area). I'm planning on getting 03FFL + COE but that will take some time. What's the best way to actually purchase ammo in a store?
