I just ordered an integral barrel suppressor for my 10/22 and the price including the Tax Stamp, doing the BATF application, mailing of the fingerprint cards, delivery of the suppressor, etc. was $682.

Figuring $200 for the tax stamp. The time to submit the fingerprint card and application, shipping me a free T-Shirt, etc. was probably worth $100. The shipping for the paperwork and delivery of the suppressor is probably $20 or so.

For about $360 I got a suppressed integral barrel. It doesn't seem unreasonable to me.

I agree.
The current suppressor prices are actually not inflated at all.
There are way too many suppressor makers competing for sales so they are driving their profit margins down.

I could see myself falling for something like this 40 years ago when I was young, naive, new to guns, and not familiar with the laws. That website looks like a trap.

Well if it didn’t, you did time or know someone well enough who did time. Or been on the other side of the glass We refer to it as putting money on their books, but ya they order from Commissary.

i used to go to la county jail (twin towers) pretty often to put money on the books for my neighbor's kids. even grandma had warrants, so nobody in the family could do it without risking arrest. this was back when i lived in a crip neighborhood.

Also, judging from the pics on the site, each filter comes with a end cap that screws onto the end opposite of the other threaded end... The cap is solid (no hole), but dimpled in the center, presumably for a drill bit.

I don't see how anybody could possibly be charged with anything illegal until that end cap was drilled through.

But I am no expert on fuel filters, or the law.

If suppressors were deregulated, would they still command the current inflated market prices?

Some are identified by X-Ray at the customs when the item comes into the US. It probably does not have anything to do with the company sharing the info.
