Did you contact a local locksmith to see about the cost of opening it?

redefining the words home safe. it is also movable so you can move your residence when the sf cops start looking for you. and you can always sell it to recycling place when out of cash.

Get it open and have a welder put a 1/4" solid plate over entire bottom?

Before you do that fill it full of something heavy [sandbags?] and then seal 'er up.

Then put it someplace fairly obvious [and hide your REAL safe someplace else] so that if you DO have a burglary they'll be the ones testing the safe mfg's theory that it can't be opened...

you can unlock the safe and immediately when you hear the double beeps to disconnect the battery. This takes the electronic safe out of service but leaves the handle functional to latch and unlatch the door but disconnects the battery

I didn't contact S&G as I couldn't wait. I was leaving the next day for CA and didn't want my guns left in the damp garage and no guns in the house.

I contacted the only two locksmiths in the county and they both recommended the Safe Rep in Lexington. The County that I live in has a population of less than 20,000 people so there aren't many resources available.

Result, all the guns are out and the saw caught the corner of one recoil pad on one of the old guns.

That makes sense. Glad the only damage was superficial. I talked to a gunshop owner who was given a safe with unknown contents. He chose to open it with an angle grinder. Turned out it had black powder and he got damn lucky.
