Yeah, Wolf is an importer, not a manufacturer. they source ammo from many different sources, which is why it's of varying quality. Back in the 2000's lots of rifle calibers sold under the Wolf Gold line were made by Prvi Partizan. Their 12ga shells have recently been made in Germany.

Wolf gold is gtg, brass case and copper/lead bullets.

Personally I don’t use the steel case stuff in any firearm I care about, not just steel case, but the bullets are bi-metal jacket aka thin layer of copper with steel underneath. So additional wear on your barrel, how much it matters on a low pressure round like the 45 is debateable.

Well, as others have said, most ranges do not allow it and it can no longer be used for hunting in CA. My Ruger Mini-14 Ranch Rifle shoots the Wolf HPs into 2 inches at 100 yards - good enough for calling coyotes in other states. The only caution is that it flings the cases hard enough to crack a windshield.

Wolf is Russian. If you support Russia and Putin buy it.

Wolf ammo is dirty and sticky. The steel case is un reloadable.

Dont buy it unless your a commie.

Wolf and Tula are both good "enough". Be thankful for anything with a decent price these days. I shoot mostly 7.62 and .223. Done a few boxes of .45 and 9mm. Its not going to damage your guns.

Eastern European ammo is great. It it doesn’t fire out of your weapon, it’s probably the weapons fault.

Wolf, tulammo, brown/silver bear, golden tiger, military surplus.

Wolf Gold is made in Taiwan at their national arms factory. It's gtg for sure.
While the above is "mostly" true (I have over 10K in .223), the one and only squib round I have ever encountered was Wolf Gold in a brand new factory AR. It was the very first round. I had hearing protection on and did notice the low noise. I manually extracted and tried to chamber another round. Good thing the slug had barely moved, it prevented the next round from chambering.

American made machine guns won't run steel. I know since I've been shooting machine guns for over a decade.

AK has no tolerance. Of course it will run anything. It will also rattle apart quickly.

Semi auto is not a problem with steel. It does not get hot enough. Sloppy chambers are not a problem either. But guns like the AR-15 and closed bolt guns will have an issue with full auto.

I've broken plenty of ar15 based extractors running steel in full auto guns. Guns like my full auto 1919 are so beefy they just rip the back of the case off the shell and left the rest stuck in the barrel

How much time do you have with various machine guns? I shoot them weekly.

                              Interesting.

I've shot a 1919 before and the case heads were getting ripped off. Turned out the head space was off. Owner gauged it and reset the head space and she ran great the rest of the day. Smiles returned. Great belt fed mg. High five to JMB!

Shooting 308 wolf classic and using short bursts, not ripping a whole belt at a time.

I wonder how it compares to the Prvi Partizan (last time I bought Wolf Gold 5.56 that was where it was made, ran on the hot side, the Grendel Wolf Gold was very good).
