I use an outdoor range right now, but am thinking about switching. The amount of dust and sand that gets kicked up (and is likely contaminted) is bad. And all that dust and sand gets blown around (no directional ventilation) and into your face / clothes / hair.
He waited until his numbers came down then just went occasionally to the same place since Coyote Point was a no go and Sharp Park was closed by then.

At Oak Tree, its all outdoors, but you're breathing a lot of dust and sand (which is likely contaminated).

I've been going to outdoor, but I'm beginning to think all the contaminated dust and debree that floats around due to wind / shooting may be worse than being indoors.
        Outdoor is absolutely healthier.
The further away from the general public you can get, the better as well.
Consider joining a private outdoor club and going shooting mid-week when almost nobody else is around.

It's interesting. I'm trying to figure out whether indoor or out door is healthier. At Oak Tree, its all outdoors, but you're breathing a lot of dust and sand (which is likely contaminated).

Switched indoor ranges (from old local popular indoor to a brand new one with awesome ventilation) after trying for 6 months to get my blood lead levels down to normal. Tried half-face respirators with P100 filters but having a really good tight seal made shooting an uncomfortable numbing experience. Everyone looked at me like a retard and this was before covid19. Was shooting 2-3x/week.

Absolutely shoot outdoors if you can. No amount of dust and dirt compares to the crap air in an indoor range.

If you shoot a lot at indoor ranges, get tested.
