Best ventilated indoor range in LA?

    Hi all,

I'm looking for a well ventilated indoor range in Los Angeles to try out. I've been doing the outdoor ranges, but with the weather that can be difficult.

My concern is ventilation. I try to get as little lead exposure as possible (braces for the replies about how its no big deal...) so a well ventilated place would be ideal.

    Any suggestions?

whatever you choose, get tested and don't go when it's crowded / get a lane without neighbors.
getting lead-free ammo does you no good if everyone else isn't.
Got lead poisoning and the only solution was to switch indoor ranges.

You're wise to seek out one with good ventilation. My Dad at one point after he retired was going a couple of times a week to an indoor range. The doctor had done a blood test and freaked out.

His lead readings were off the chart. He had to stop going to the indoor range at the time.

N95s won't work for airborne lead, but P100s will but are uncomfortable to wear for an hour or so.

I always felt Firing Line in Burbank seemed to have good ventilation.

So you switched TO indoor after you got poisoning?

It's interesting. I'm trying to figure out whether indoor or out door is healthier. At Oak Tree, its all outdoors, but you're breathing a lot of dust and sand (which is likely contaminated).

I've been going to outdoor, but I'm beginning to think all the contaminated dust and debree that floats around due to wind / shooting may be worse than being indoors.

                        Did he switch to outdoors?

I use an outdoor range right now, but am thinking about switching. The amount of dust and sand that gets kicked up (and is likely contaminted) is bad. And all that dust and sand gets blown around (no directional ventilation) and into your face / clothes / hair.

I use P100 and it does not do the full job. I can still feel discomfort / sore throat / and bad tastes and smells using a p100 particular.

I'm switching to a P100 vapor respirator and hoping that helps.
