Off Roster PPTs at Big Box Stores

Sounds like someone there with zero knowledge of gun laws in Ca. heard the words "off roster" and had a kneejerk reaction. I avoid the BBS's for anything firearms related whenever possible, too many hassles, long waits and pimply faced teenagers I wouldn't trust to park my car.

Saw a guy at SW Brentwood trying to consign his AR style in .22lr and the manager refused saying they don't accept consignment for even featureless AR in rimfire

I remember doing a PPT on a G19X at Turners a few years back. Took 2 employees, 1 manager and 90 minutes to figure it out. Even though the mags were blocked they wouldn’t let me PPT unless I had a CA 10 round mag that I had to buy from them.

When places make you buy things to get a gun out the door, simply return the thing immediatly after you have walked the gun out the door.
Always buy the thing they are making you buy as a separate transaction from the firearm transfer so you will have a lone receipt when you go back into the store to make the return.

My last ppt was at Turners in Stockton a few months ago for an off roster handgun. I’ve had more good experiences than bad with Turners. If you go in knowing exactly what you want or what you want to do they can be a great resource. If you go in looking for advice or opinions then good f’n luck.
