    9mm ARs

Anybody have a 9mm AR full size with 16 " barrel? Not the pistol version. I looked locally and they are hard to find. Getting one modified to CA compliant prior to being shipped to CA may be difficult. So I am on plan B I want one that used Glock mags as I have a lot of those. Rifle gear has some complete lowers but no stripped lowers. I thought of going with the Sylvan Glock mag adapter and either a PSA complete rifle Kit or just get an upper from them or another vendor.

Any recommendations for uppers or complete CA compliant rifles? Anybody use the Sylvan adapter? Let me know how you like shooting 9mm compared to .223.

Turners was selling glock style lower a few months ago. Stripped for a lil under $200

Yup,I've used the Sylvan adapter in a Anderson lower with palmetto upper for a thousand rounds or so. Mostly on just a square range but I did use them in a couple shooting events that I liked the 9mm AR concept enough to get a dedicated aero Glock lower.

For the Sylvan adapter, the only issue I've had is that some kci mags are a little tight to get in. Factory Glock and Magpul mags were fine. Be sure to use a heavier 9mm buffer , I like the extended ones since it reduces travel distance in the bufferr tube.

For the aero lower, I found that on the kci mags, sometimes the bolt would go over the mag and not strip a round, again Glock factory and Magpul mags are fine.

There's plenty of stripped lowers that take Glock magazines available at local stores (Turners, Ammo Bros, etc.). Uppers are available though many online retailers.

Built an 80% Arms 9mm lower with a Midway 9mm 16" upper. Works fine and gave me a great place to use my Glock 33 round mags.

Our 9mm AR-9 80% lower receiver features a flared mag well and aircraft-grade billet aluminum. Order this 9mm lower receiver from 80 Percent Arms today!

I think YSR just got a complete 9mm AR from somewhere. Hit him up.

Also, Aero and Spikes make lowers that I have seen at the LGS. Angstadt Arms makes one too but I haven't really seen those around.

I put together a 16" PCC with a Spikes Glock lower. Has functioned great with the 200 or so rounds i put thru it. LRBHO works perfectly on mags that have stiff springs (OEM mags it worked, Magpul mags it was hit or miss).

I built one about 6 months ago out of a Spikes Glock-style lower and psa 16" upper. I just wanted a fun cheap range/blm land plinker. If I want ballistics I will shoot 556 or 300bo.

Why not use a stripped PSA lower? Probably the cheapest on the market.

The PSA lower would have to be done as a dealer transfer. That is a $75 + shipping add one compared to trying to find one local.

What BCG are you guys using if you're using an Anderson AM-9 or Spike's Tactical lower?

I'm using a complete upper from NFA on a few test builds and the BCG that comes with it is not compatible with the LRBHO of the lowers which is what I wanted to test.

Important: you may want the new frontier upper that takes double stack mags like the mp5. Eventually you will buy all lowers that takes all kinds of mags anyways.

I just bought a Juggernaut Tactical AR carbine 9mm from Turner's. It's phenomenal.

                              Well worth the money.

Then I took back to Juggernaut Tactical to have them convert it from Hell Fighter button to featureless.

                              Much better.
