When the peak limit sometimes doesn't even cover for a single firearm, people buy extended coverage so that if both (or all three) of their guns are stolen / damaged that they still have coverage to replace them.
Lots of people here actually own a collection of firearms - so leaving them uninsured isn't what many of us are comfortable with.Comment

Most standard home owners and renters policies only cover $2K of firearms loss, give or take. If that's all you got, then no problem. Check your policy limitations if you don't already know what they are."Kestryll I wanna lick your doughnut."

Regular policies will leave you woefully under insured for items such as guns, comics, collectible vinyl, jewelry, etc. When my vacation home burned-down, I got 2K for about 20K of comics and valuable LPs. Luckily my jewelry and guns were not there, or I would have been even farther in the hole.Comment
