Legal department from chain retailers (i.e. Turners) were hesitant at first but ultimately gave them the go ahead. Because of that they were late to the game and lost lots of potential business. I got lots of sticks drums from Brownelle and no gouging from them in fact it was on-sale and free shipping at the time.

Marketplace here was no gouging either that I saw, priced similar to retail prices. this member had so many from years past and was glad to get rid of them that week lol.

Turners and Ammo Bros were a joke during freedom week. Clearly showed gun stores out-of-state were more for Californians than those 2 retailers were.

Turners stepped into freedom at the last day, and what they offered? MFT Mags. Mags not many heard of or existed, and no one wanted due to slew of mag failures shared by users on the internet. They wanted Californians to own standard capacity mags that would fail and make their freedom week mag acquisition short lived, and what may have been mags stored in the "backroom."

One time he took a few buddies in his RV to Vegas during a gun show and bought hundreds of rare and highly sought after magazines manufacturered prior to freedom week. Chad was very careful and intelligent man. He had a strong power of imagination and incredible discipline that allowed him to cover his tracks at all times. His methods were profound.

When Chad went on these trips, he had a strict protocol for everyone who came along. No one was to bring any personal communication devices with GPS reception or ID's, credit cards, etc other than the driver. Each man was to use a prepaid phone bought with cash only for the trip. Even with these precautions in place, no communication was to be made over these devices that could implicate anyone in anything illegal. He would park his RV miles away from the showgrounds in a private lot, and on the morning of the show, he and his buddies would each pack a bag of food and water then split up and individually go towards the objective either on foot or by taking a bus. Each man was tasked with looking for different types of magazines to diversify purchases.

At the gun show, each person paid their own tickets and bought everything individually. If names were asked in conversation, pseudonyms and false backgrounds were given. As their backpacks began to swell with purchases, they would incrementally consume the food and drinks they packed so the volume of their backpacks remained unchanged. After the show, they would go to shopping malls or stores and move around the city before they headed back to the RV. This was apparently meant to fatigue and throw off any potential observers. They would also take their time on the return trip in the RV and visit different landmarks and state parks before heading towards the border.

He's gone on dozen of these types of trips and he's only ever been flagged down and searched once at the border by the department of food and agriculture. All contraband were secured deep inside modified compartments hidden behind false walls which were layered behind locking cabinets, so even if they were asked to unlock one such cabinet, they would find nothing but private belongings.

Whenever I spoke with Chad on these kinds of subjects, he never struck me as some kind of career criminal or jail bird with a chip on his shoulder. Instead I got the impression that he was a very ethical man with an adventurous and enterprising personality who found something he enjoyed.

The nonchalant way he goes about these stories makes me realize how easy and mundane this must have become for him. and how there must be so many others doing the exact same thing as him with varying degrees of caution and sophistication, but all equally undetectable. By his account, he's responsible for trafficking over 5 thousand illegal magazines without issue.

Right...let's all believe a troll who thinks his s&w m&p in illegal configuration is worth $6000.

Is there any reason to believe there is an upcoming freedom week? With the new gun/ammo tax and the ban of some HKs it looks like **** is going in the other way.

No, there will definitely not be another magazine Freedom Week. However,

^ that's the hope. The next (and final) stop for the Duncan case is SCOTUS, where's it's currently awaiting a decision by the court on whether or not they'll hear it. There's at least one other "large capacity" magazine case at SCOTUS as well.

A win there would result in permanent magazine freedom.
Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.

Best bet would be Arms Unlimited. They weren't canceling orders if they weren't shipped out on time. Some members here were really upset at them because of the wait times and stocking issues for their orders but at least they didn't cancel them like most other vendors. You can imagine the volume of orders were insane.
