CA Roster gun that is Optics ready

I have a friend that wants to get a gun with a RDS for her nightstand. She doesn't want to spend a ton of money for an off roster gun.

I 've been scouring the CA gun roster but can't seem to find a semi-automatic rostered gun that comes from the factory that is optics ready.

Does anyone know of a brand that has a gun that is on roster and factory OR?

    Thanks.

    1. Treat all guns as if loaded (even when you know they aren't).
    2. Never point the muzzle at anything you aren't willing to destroy.
    3. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target.
    4. Know your target and what is beyond it (avoid all collateral damage).

Nope besides maybe the Buckmark, but it’s in .22.

Most likely, you can pick an on-roster gun and have the slide milled for a RDS.

AFAIK, the only On-Roster optic ready non-rimfire handgun is the S&W 327-1 TRR8 SKU 170269A, which is a 5" barrel N frame .357Magnum revolver with removable picatinny rails for optics/accessories; MSRP $1400.

None that I am aware of - CA laws went in effect before optic-ready slides became vogue

Just get a Glock Gen 3 and get a separate optic-ready slide for about $200+
Still cheaper than an Off Roster

This is probably the least expensive option.

I have a M&P Shield 9mm CA version - Since it's the first version of the M&P shield you can find it used at a good price- Originally I was going to put the Swampfox Sentinel as a Red Dot on it and I found that locally they can mill the slide for $125.00.
I have a friend that may be buying my shield so I am selling the Swampfox Sentinel here on the Marketplace section. Feel free to DM if you have any questions.

Haloson on a Glock slide. Look on eBay or CG. In the mean time, get a green laser and pistol light. For home defense, that is more effective than a red dot.

Why not get the pistol you want & have the slide milled for your RDS, or buy an aftermarket, optics ready slide.
I prefer to modify OEM slides for improved reliability. Plenty of shops offer slide milling, checkout Jagerwerks.

The S&W Model 41 has optics ready versions which I believe, is on roster.

Sig offers 229 and 229 Pro Cut slides that are optic ready. Takes your existing barrel and recoil spring.

Another way is to use a “dovetail mount” but you would lose the rear iron sight

                            Glock 19 and a laser.
                            Or get.the slide milled.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

Mind if I ask where you can get the M&P Shield milled at? What type of mill job can they do, RMRcc?
