Please DONT GO TO ACES PAWN SHOP

    Hello,
Calgunners I hope all is well. Aces pawn shop took advantage of my dad because he didn't know any better and pressured him into buying a lock even though he had a safe and lock receipt and under the 30 days. 5 dollars that Chris the owner stole. The other fat bold employee said that we couldn't use a standard capacity mag for the safety demo because it was "illegal". When confronted with the fact that they were wrong he started that I was right about all the above and that I was fool and he was doing US GUN OWNERS a "Favor" by doing these transfers and that we should be thankful for him. He refused to return my dads money and even worse did not do the right thing. So much for customer service. Stay away from these thieves don't make the same horrible mistake we did by going to aces.

Its not about the 5 bucks. It about doing things right and clearly Chris didn't care. That is why I'm so upset

I explained to the ffl that our mags are 100 percent legal. Its not a third world problem. It his attitude towards HIS lack of knowledge and customer service that IS THE PROBLEM. I even explained to him we had a receipt but when confronted about a refund he said "there are no refunds and said see you later. Horrible customer service. If he is not willing to do the right thing for 5 bucks what makes you think he will do the right thing if more money is involved

He said you had to buy the lock regardless.

Alamo Pawn is a way better place to go for gun transactions in that area. On Azusa just north of 10frwy.

Their business, their policy. Good heads up. Hopefully it saves someone some headaches.

We try to return it because we don't need it. But he wouldn't budge.. problem is not the money. Its his attitude "I'm doing you guys a favor." "You should be thankful" what is wrong with him...he's not the only FFL.

                  Kingransom,
Chris even admitted he was wrong after the fact... besides other shops have no problem with standard cap magazines. My problem is his attitude once again

they usually make you buy the lock if your buying a used gun , brand new guns come with a CA approved lock.

Let me address from my own personal experiences.
I won't get involve in your displeasure with Chirs, I wasn't there, don't know the whole story or his side of the story and I don't know if what your are telling here is 100 true so I won't get involve.

As to Chris' attitude or character I personally never had an issue with him. First, its his store he can run it whatever way he likes. If I disagree with him on he's way of running his business, either I walk or deal with his policies. Its my option. Chris is very knowledgeable in gun laws, transfers, etc and a valuable FFL member of Calguns. Anyone can push the wrong button and triggered an "attitude", that's life. Like i've said I don't know your dad's conflict with him completely.

He is a good guy in my book.

And not all new guns have "CA approved locks".

Voice typing will butcher whatever I was trying to say

I’ll never do business with them again either. Did a ppt with a gun that had the lock it came with from the factory and they still made me buy a new lock. “You don’t have a receipt for it.”

And for those saying, “lock wasn’t CA approved.” The lock they made me buy was the EXACT same lock, model and all, that was supplied with the gun in the box for PPT.

For all locals, drive the extra 20 minutes and go to Ryenex in Chino. Those guys are straight shooters! No BS! And they have you in and out in 15 minutes
